Nokia E7 becomes available this week

Thanks for the reply iDenTiTy. Really think I will go for it.

@Jow, Last I heard from a vodacom rep was April this year. Don't know if that will hold but its all we got

Just do yourself a favour.

Play with the phone before you buy it.
Many people have come from playing around with an Android or iOS and said they hate Symbian etc.
Remember, the UI is 50% of the experience.

That being said, I'm sure you would like the E7. It's an absolutely brilliant phone by any standard.
:)

Already played around with the n8 a bit and am coming from s s60 device, so think that I will be used to it. Also read that PR3.0 will give a new UI so thats something to look forward to.
Also side note, look at this amazing app that turns your device in to a (better)media player when connected to a HDTV

Got this device and being such an expensive phone was thinking about getting those screen protectors. Just wanted to know with the phone having "gorilla glass" is a screen protector sheet needed and also I want to get the mirror reflecting looking ones. They look nice but are they practical to be used indoors/outdoors without to much reflection?
Anyone knows places that stock sizes made for the E7 (don't want a universal one)

Not really.
But I keep the one that came with the phone on in any case. It doesn't hurt.

With regards to the reflective ones... your phone has a polarising filter on the screen itself (Nokia calls it ClearBlack). A reflective cover may have quite a negative impact on the readability in direct sunlight.
If you must get a screen protector, go to the Official Nokia store - almost all others stock generics (which may work well, somehow just aren't the same as originals).

Nokia E7 signal reception

Received my Nokia E7 2 days ago....what a nice looking phone BUT signal reception is very poor. My Nokia 5800 download data with 3G or 3.5G speeds while this phone struggle to stay connected with GPRS. Will take it back to the shop and I hope it is only a setting problem. Anybody else having this problem?

Nope.
My N8 has excellent reception. Even though I stay in a black hole, it never goes below, say 50% (half bar).
Take it back and get a swop-out, take your 5800 with to prove it to them.
:)

Thanx for reply iDenTiTy......problem solved. It were a setting problem. For some reason the phone used a unauthorized access point to connect to the internet and not the default setting....
