Possibly. I think I got tripped up thinking it had LCD because we lost Glance on the 730.![]()
You know the lack of glance is not really an issue for me. The phone has double tap, and there's a nice lockscreen app that you can customize to your heart's content. So I used that with double tap, if the phone notified me of something then I just double tap the screen to see what is going on.
Double tap works perfectly on my 520, lost the feature on my 630. Maybe adjust your screen sensitivity?1. Do you find double-tap works on and off? My G2 works 95% of the time with one double tap. The 730 is less than 50% first time - more often than not I'm reaching for the power button.
2. Which lockscreen app?![]()
...why cant we load WP on other devices?
Yeah play around with the sensitivity. That's how I got it worked out. I'm guessing it will be different for every user.
I think it was this one, but there a couple of different versions of this app:

Yup, spent a while yesterday figuring out which tiles work best for me. Still enjoying the phone.
WP 8.1 offers a wide range of customisations to the start screen. Besides changing the size and number of tiles available for the start screen (more columns), you can also change the background photo, etc.
Some people have the most amazing start screens and sometimes I find myself just staring staring at my mine![]()
It could potentially be that Qualcomm chips are digitally signed for only specific Operating systems. Thought I'm just guessing here. The other issue might be getting certain things like NFC to work on a win phone takes a different approach to NFC on android. Currently I am still stuck with my Xperia V, and holy hell can I not wait to go over to win.
Maybe just get one of those custom Android ROM's then that's got all the unneeded features removed. And slap on Nokia/Windows lockscreen and that Nokia launcher + or whatever it is called. It's what I would do.
My blog (moving to the Lumia 730) has been updated (again). Comments welcome (and encouraged).
Follow the link in my sig.
Yeah I also never used these search engine companions much. But Cortana is handy for reminding me about things.
I might suggest that you search around online before buying these apps as there could be a possibility that there are better ones out there.
I have read this morning that metrotube's latest update has fixed the playback bug.
- Phone doesn't get time from network, need to set it manually. Internet and all internet related services doesn't work if time or date is wrong.
- Why the hell is the All Settings menu non-alphabetical? Bloody ridiculous!
- IE is the default browser and you cannot change it. IE works well but doesn't feature background tabs which sucks donkeyballs. UC Browser is OK but I stupidly removed my SD card where it was installed before uninstalling the app, I'm now battling to re-install it. Surfy is OK but you have a limited amount of tabs you can have open. Opera doesn't work half the time.
- There should be more volume settings, ideally splitting the current Ringer + Notifications & Media + Apps into 4 separate ones (at the very least split Media + Apps)
- The phone itself operates smooth as silk but it does slow down on the odd occasion (slow to respond). I'm sure the 730 with double the amount of RAM should be sharp(ish).
