Nokia Lumia 930

I will let you know on the weekend what I think of it. Mine arrives tomorrow.
Bored as heck of iOS and android.
Last few years have been htc desire, iphone 3gs, galaxy2, galaxy s3, iphone 4s, htc desire hd (in no particular order)
So I think Im good and ready for a change now.
I will still keep my ipad they are hands down the best tablets and I will always be an android fanboy but I think MS is heading in a really good direction with WP.

You don't mean the 930 hey? If so I would go ape ****.
If not, which one are you getting?

Edit: I suck at reading... 1520 then haha

So someone on Carbonite said he had a chat to a lady from Nokia who said(100% sure apparently) the Lumia 930 would only be launched(hopefully be available too) in September :(
Because the 6xx(I assume the 630) was just launched the flagship is being delayed.

thanks RB

Dude I have to say windows phone is the most amazing mobile OS I have used.
Its so clean compared to iOS and Android.
With WP8.1 installed it has all the same pull down notifications etc.
The other thing is the battery life, not sure what the other Nokia's are like but Im getting 3 days with quite a few calls and lots of playing around on the phone.
The 1520 itself is *massive* its not terrible though and Im getting used to it.
This is honestly the happiest I have been with a phone in many years so Im hoping it doesnt disappoint later on.

There is a downside though, the appstore is pretty sparse. 90% of the stuff I used on Android is there and there are alternatives for everything other than flipboard which I really enjoyed.
Im sure when uptake improves that the store will be fattened up a bit.

I'm glad you are happy and I'm sure I will also be also. A change is good, I too am bored with Android and iOS. It's not that they are bad operating systems but I kind of feel like a change to something new. I also do my level best to keep up with the various desktop and mobile OS's. The lack of a mature appstore is pretty worrying for me as I like to bugger around once a week and try the latest recommended app or game, although 99% of the time its deleted the next day and all of the must haves are available on all platforms.

On top of that every top end 2014 Android I've held in my hand just hasn't felt like a fresh upgrade. The build quality of the HTC One M8 may change that.

The 1520 will be way too big for me as I mountain bike with my phone in pocket most days and I have a Note 2014 tablet for those instances where I need a bigger screen. The 930 should be perfect, I just hope its here sooner rather than later as I've already been waiting an age for something interesting. When I see the HTC one m8 I may just bite...

The one M8 is a solid phone, very expensive but solid.
The build quality on the Nokias is absolutely awesome and I love the OS.
There are still a bunch of new apps coming out for it and now that its being offered free to OEM's the uptake is going to improve.
I have an old android with a bar mount that I use for cycling, that way I dont feel too bad if something happens to it :p

We'll have to see what happens. Hopefully the 930 is available July. My S3 is starting to give crap and I don't have the energy to load another rom. Currently running Resurrection kitkat.

I rommed mine so many times I couldnt keep track anymore.
I eventually ended up on CM11 which served well until I got the new phone.
That unfortunately is the problem with Android, you always end up having to fiddle with something.
On the one hand its good because some problems you can fix without waiting for an update but other times it makes it worse.

I played with this last night at the launch and was extremely impressed. It feels like such a well built phone. It's strong, light, and feels "expensive".
Also, the Tempura Prawns were sooo good.

So I got one today... First Windows Phone as my daily driver - had a 610 and 520. Must say I'm impressed. Nice change from my usual android and odd iPhone routine :)

I got a green one!! Absolutely beautiful

Awesome phone, hardware is actually overkill for Windows Mobile, but luckily you will be future proof until WP20 :D
Give us your review of the phone after a few days, compared to your Android if possible.

The new Nokia x30 range is really stunning ... My only real gripe with the WP environment is the damn browsers ... I can't find anything stable that will open a link in a background tab. IE is rock solid but doesn't do background tabs, Opera seemed to be the answer but whatever I do these days I get "failed to parse client request" errors. I tries a few others as well but none of them were to my liking (can't remember names though)

Any suggestions please?

What about UC Browser?
