Need some help here:

My TV only has one speaker, and since a lot of the movies I watch come in stereo I feel I may be missing something. So I need a decent set of stereo speakers that I can plug into my XBOX360. I checked Rectron but they only have the X230 and Z10 (which are USB and I dont think will work on an XBOX).

Please help ??

Oh yeah. I'm saving for a decent Stereo HiFi, so don't want to spend too much. Maybe R1500 or so? Don't really know what this stuff costs....

So why not rather wait a bit longer and add that money to your stereo hifi setup?

Stereo is old school these days, skip the Hi-Fi.

Logitech Z-5500 - 5.1 THX / DTS / Dolby Digital / 500 W RMS and will work with your xbox - expect to pay around R4000 retail, includes 2 Year warranty.

Yeah, I'm very picky when it comes to sound. I figure that if I buy a good set of PC speakers to use with my TV, then when I finally buy my TV/HiFi (it could take 2 months; could take 2 years :)), I can use the speakers for my PC.

The 2300 look good, but not sure about that sub, I don't like too much bass blasting though me. I also have 0 interest in 5.1 or any of the multiple speaker configurations. It irritates me to have sound coming from all directions - and most of the movies that I watch have crap, lousy sound anyway....

Any good sets of 2.0 speakers??

Logitech Z2300 - a review and rating by cnet - looks good!

Logitech Z-5500 - also look good & appears to be highly rated too.

I will be getting a surround sound for my 42" in the near future. Movies and Wii - looks like one of these will do the job quite nicely. :)

I'm pretty finicky with my sound as well and I'd really recommend a 2.1 setup if you're not into multiple speakers. The .1 just adds the bottom end of the movies/music that you need!

That sub isn't that great - not oodles of bass like you'd think. Just turn it down a tad.

I'm thinking of just buying it. Problem is that I can't find which disti does Logitech?? I'm pretty sure Tarsus used to (but no longer do), and I see that frontosa does, but I cant remember my dealer password because I never buy from them....

Esquire does Altec Lansing, are they any good??? I see they also do Divooom; not sure about those....

Bring your pc speaker setup and lets compare with either my 2.0 stereo or 5.1 surround system.

Sorry but I could not resist.

You do get speakers (for PC) that are better than most Stereos and Surround Systems... check out the Logitech PC surround systems... they're quite good

Very under-powered. They'll be nice for smaller rooms.

Underpowered how? How big is small (or should that be how small is small)? Do you own a set? My open plan lounge/kitchen is 4 x 9, with people above me, and next door so I can't play it loud anyway....
