Nootropics

I couldnt come right on the current stack. I think it might have also been the stress of the exams i was doing and even some flu.

Had a cloudy head pretty much the entire time. Felt quite energetic but lacked any real kind of focus.

I am considering trying again with a lower dose and work my way up. Just want to be 100% healthy before giving it a bash again.

So far, i would say it has been a less than great experience.

Thanks for feedback. From what i have read, it might just be a matter of finding the right dosage or regiment combination

I've been experimenting with Piracetam, Bacopa, Lion's Mane, ALCAR, PS, Choline lately, in different combinations.

Bacopa+Lion's Mane is part of my daily stack, and I feel really good using it. Bacopa makes me feel really calm, but sometimes I feel more sleepy on it. I can literally feel my brain when I miss a dosage, there's no pain, but I can feel my brain chemistry is changing.

I had the weirdest experience the other night, I took a full vitamin stack, with Bacopa+Lion's mane+ALCAR, and two blue fat burner pills I received as samples with a protein supplement delivery. I then went to the gym for some cardio, without having eaten anything except breakfast that morning. When I got home I felt so weird, like my body was asleep but I was wide awake. It wasn't a bad experience per se, but I won't soon repeat it.

I do not like Piracetam, it makes me feel hyperactive and restless, and the withdrawal symptoms when going from 3.6 g to nothing the next day is noticeably bad. I almost couldn't sleep due to the headaches, but it lasts only a short while. I recommend tapering off with reduced dosages and not going cold turkey, or you will feel the consequences.

I've been researching this as well and from what I gather there are some highly recommended products like modafinil & provigil that people are claiming to have some insane results with. Problem is that I have searched high and low for this locally and it's just not available. It's supposed to be medication for people who suffer from narcolepsy but when people without narcolepsy take this it has an immense effect on brain function. It's supposed to be a cognitive enhancer and people are claiming it's the closest thing to the drug NZT that the movie Limitless was about.

I've found that there a few supplier that are able to deliver a generic version of the above drugs to South Africa. From the reviews and discussions I've had with people who have tried the generic it seems to be mostly positive. I will let u guys when I do get my hands on it and once I;ve tried it.....

I also came across a local product Aniracetam but have no clue about how effective it is as I have not tried it at all. If anyone has please give us some feedback

I thought "Limitless" was about bipolar disorder...:(

DISCLAIMER: THESE ARE ALL OFF-THE-SHELF INGREDIENTS. I'M NOT GIVING AWAY SCHEDULED DRUGS HERE.

If anyone is keen to try out the CILTEP stack - I've got the individual ingredients here that I'm not using and would rather give it away to someone who's genuinely interested in trying it. Please don't ask for it just because you want some free stuff you know nothing about. I'd rather this go to someone who's been doing a bit of research/reading up on the matter / knows what they're doing :). The lot together costs quite a bit - so would rather someone make use of it.

Includes:
Forskolin: 125mg pills standardized extract 20% x 60
Artichoke leaf extract: 300mg x 60
L-Phenylalanine: 500mg x 50

You'll need a mg scale to weigh out the Forskolin. Or chop into a line with your credit card & eyeball the quantities :p.

I've used no more than 4 pills from each one - so it's pretty much a full stack, bought about a month ago. You're welcome to collect in (Cape Town) Observatory during the week or else in Rondebosch in the evening / over the weekend. I'm not gonna ship this around the place. Send a pm if you're interested.

Better research some more...modafinil *is* provigil.

Quick google suggests that the Forskolin has some backing...but you'd need to take a skyhigh dose (10+ tablets if the 20% is right). Any personal experience on that stack you'd like to share?

The forskolin dose with the ciltep stack is actually very small at 4mg (with a 99% pure product - so that's roughly one fifth of a 20% 125mg tablet which provides 25mg forskolin). The ciltep dose is way below the suggested dose for most forskolin products (which usually recommend the amount you brought up). Most products (example) stick to the 4mg range and from most reports and going through the ciltep thread at longecity that's where the sweet spot seems to fall.

As for my experience: I dosed in the morning both with and without the phenylalanine (swapped it out for ginkgo on two mornings). I didn't experience any of the mid-day tiredness some people have reported and I slept normally. I did however notice a shift in my thinking in that I became slightly on-edge and somewhat impatient with people. Found it difficult to roll with the conversation and be in a fun mood - I just wanted to put headphones on and get on with something and be left alone. Didn't enjoy the experience.

I'm not going to push through with a chemical cocktail that doesn't make me feel good. It seems to work wonders for other people though.

I've decided to rather add a few interesting plant extracts (Albizia, Polygala, Lemon Balm) and Lions mane and Reishi mushroom powders for now. We're somewhat limited with the stuff we can get in SA and so as much as I'd like full-spectrum products (especially for the mushroom powders) I'll just stick to what's available locally. It gets a bit expensive importing stuff the whole time :(.

I'd like to try provigil once-off - but I'm not spending R900 on a pack of 30 :). Importing is cheaper but eh - cba really. I'd like to try piracetam a few times too, and luckily it's much cheaper here...just never gone through with getting it for some irrational reason. I have a silly fear of something going wrong that's based on too much time reading horror-stories on forum threads :p. I realise the majority of those people probably took huge doses and stacked it with a load of other stuff too so...maybe in a few months.

Maybe someone wants to swap a few piracetam/modafinil caps for my ciltep stack :D.

Actually doesn't sound bad price wise.

Seems like step 1?

What MO did you use to decide on a reliable supplier...from what I read a sizable portion of the stuff is duds at best (dangerous at worst).

The R900 is local, though that was a few months ago and afaik most places were in the R900 - R1200 range at the time. The generics, if you import them - work out much cheaper. https://modup.net/ is where I'd get if I was going to order. Reason number one is they've actually got people online (via a popup chat window) who seemed quite knowledgeable and able to answer the questions I had at the time. They also provide some useful info on their FAQ page. I've also seen them recommended on a few reddit and longecity threads - for what that's worth. I just prefer to get in touch with them and have a discussion, then take it from there. It's difficult to gauge an international company supplying generic drugs though.

Cool. Any good ideas on where to get some L-Theanine? Cost isn't an issue to me but trustworthy source is.

ah didn't know there is one. shot dude

local is lekker - much easier to scope out

Have you used Piracetam (or any of the other 'racetams)? Seems from your posts like you might have - so would be keen to hear your opinions & experiences & whether there were any obvious positives / negatives that stood out for you, what doseage you were taking, how long you took it for etc. If indeed you've used it :p.

No I haven't. The comment was based more on what I perceive to be consensus on the interwebs that it is step 1.

L-Theanine interests me due to the potential to take some of the jittery edge off caffeine.

I will find the stack I used that had Piracetam. It was absolutely awful, energy without focus, fidgety, headaches.
Simply not worth it for me. However, what doesnt work for some may work for you.

Its all about finding the right stack for you, which takes loads of time and occasionally some unpleasantness

Did you try it with / without choline? Are you on any kind of stack at the moment...did you find something that works for you?

I'm getting some piracetam tomorrow and decided to keep to a low mg (400) cap to start out with so I'll see how it goes and report back in a few weeks / months / if when anything noticeable occurs :).

Not on any stacks at the moment. I was going to try again in the new year
Yeah, used with CDP-choline

dude I used Theanine and Pregnenolone which are Solal products sold at Dischem... they give you a mood enhancement in the mornings, but from 12 you get these crashes and just feel ***...
