Good for North Korea for standing up against the "World Police" and it's virtually useless lapdog called the U.N.

Boy oh boy, this is the most blatant and literal form of posturing in the history of nations . The US has a battle ready contingent plonked right on the South/North border. They literally face each other off DAILY. There have also been shots fired through the fence!

They need to relax this a bit and calm the whole situation down.

Well I would go further and say they should strive to reunite both halves of the country. They can start by both agreeing to stand down, withdraw their armies 50 Km or so and start peace talks. The Americans can b-off home too.

There's a lot of US sponsored propaganda being bandied about. It isn't a place I would happily take my grandmother, but I wouldn't say he's a "nutter". They said the Soviets were this and that, and when I met them they were just like you and I, except more friendly and socially aware.

So you met people in high echelons of power in the Soviet Union then? I'm sure the vast majority of North Koreans are perfectly friendly, honest people. The regime that runs their country is not. You just have to look at how it treats the people themselves. If a regime treats it's own people with such contempt why must foreign countries expect any different treatment for themselves?

Yes, the Americans have done wonders with their dollars. Like they did with West Berlin to prove artificially that it was better in the West. That explains why Germany recovered so well after the devastating war.

What makes this different is that the war between S & N Korea never ended and the North feels under threat of US invasion. They are also under extreme sanctions - led again by the US. By eliminating this threat, they will have no need to be on a war-footing.

Do you have a link? If it weren't for Krushchev, we would have had WW3. Now that's a fact. Kennedy was the one on the drugs that fueled his aggression, not the Soviet 1st Secretary.
