Yup the US is then a rogue state right because the UN said don't attack Iraq and they ignored them and attacked.

So what kind of message does that send when a power house like America straight up ignores the UN? Why are we so shocked when other countries do it?

The UN told the US not to do something? Doubt that that could even happen. If the UN tried to tell the US something that it didn't like it would just veto the resolution.

If the U.N had done it's job and held Iraq to it's obligations there would have been no "ignoring of the U.N" in the first place.


You gotta laugh. They complain that the U.N does nothing and then condemn the U.S when it does it for them :rolleyes:

Everyone knows that the 5 permanent members of the Security Council can ignore the UN when it suits them. China vetoes Taiwan and Tibet issues, US vetoes Israeli/Palestinian issues, Russia vetoes Chechnya and so on....
 
Yea but majority listen to what the UN vote says, so at the end of the day of the UN cannot control the members HTF does it expect to control anyone else?

I mean honestly its getting stupid now and they may as well dissolve the UN for being the most useless thing on this planet. So basically the UN members can ignore the UN, so WTF does it exist if you don't have to obey them? WTF is it for if you can just ignore them?

China criticized NK, less sternly than Barrack Obama.

The UN does have some good programs.
 
So the programs are good, awesome but if you want to do anything you can ignore them if you want to.

So then they should stop sticking their noses in other people's business if they cannot control their own members.
 
The UN has become a joke, right about the time the most powerful and influencial, and democratic members started getting overruled by a bunch of little tyrants.

The outlawing of religious criticism is a prime example. The UN should be dismantled, and a new "CLUB" setup, that disallows tyrants to join.

The UN gets undermined by everyone, the US ignored it at went to war in Iraq, Israel always ignores it's reports... the latest one being UN Gaza headquarters being bombed.

The UN should rebrand itself as a peace loving humanitarian organization ONLY, that's all it's capable of.

The whole point of the U.N was to bring nations together to prevent global war between the major powers. Of course nuclear weapons did that anyway. Unfortunately the U.N is also infested with loony peaceniks that refuse to allow the U.N to take any military action against tyrants. The usual "can't solve problems through war", "sinking to the tyrants level" blah blah excuses abound. They prefer appeasement which of course proved so successful in preventing WW2 :o

Please enlighten me as to what war has solved. I look at Iraq, Afghanistan etc nothing has been solved.

So what does war solve? What does/has fighting and killing solved.

War creates problems not solves them.
