Draft regulations published at the end of May, the third last step before everything is in place for e-tolling to commence, show the administrative cost of not buying an e-tag – to both the company collecting tolls and yourself.
It also puts in place the legal framework for criminal and civil processes to collect outstanding e-tolls and specifically mentions that the sending of an invoice is not a precondition for the South African National Roads Agency Limited (Sanral) to start legal proceedings against you if you don’t pay.
So how do you contest anything, if you do not even have something to show?
I see a lot of unhappy people when this goes active ...
Er why is mybb publishing pro e-toll articles.I would rather you not publish junk like this that encourages people to register for the corrupt etoll system.
This implications of this system being successful are much larger than just paying for using a road.If we even remotely support or warm up to the idea of etolls we will be giving government the message that we are a bunch of lazy ignorant fools who don't know how to stand up for ourselves so go ahead and milk us in any way you can dream of.We will be milked for corrupt projects repeatedly hereafter until the economy can support it no more.
This etolling system must fail or the country is going to be dragged down by corruption from the top.
I'm an optimist and I believe our country can be great, but if we allow corruption on a large scale like this to exist we will fail miserably and be just another poor african country ravaged by the "clever" western governments and betrayed by our own people in power.
Those aren't etoll gantries... so I doubt it :/McGuywer said:Will the Stormvoel and Zambezi toll gates count towards the cap?
Who said yes?
I've also been wondering about this ...I've searched but can't find the facts. Does anyone know?So what happens if someone drives their car from Cape Town and passes some etolls driving through JHB for example?
