Not happy with BT Games!

Thats good to hear. BTGames FTW. I can leave this thread alone now. lol

silghtly of topic here, but I would agree with the point that their staff is not always the friendliest.

I have often gone to the shop, asked a question and when they don't know the answer to something they usually give you a long shpiel of what they think the answer is. And heavens forbid you correct them they get peeved off with you. I don't really like dealing with salesmen that give you the impression that you must fall on your face and thank them for dealing with you.

On the bright side, as far as games go, they are usually better stocked than most other shops.

I am over it, I if I get my game on the 27th and a credit note passed or my money back I will be stoked. I don't like to spend more than I have to and from now on, if BT games has the right price I will buy off the net and just collect it from the branch. That way I get my discount, sorry to the shop owner, and sales people.

Thought I should get my 5c worth!

If you think you can do a better job than my sales guys, drop me or Shannon your CV, we are looking for more sales staff now...

:D :D :D

It's not that easy when you are on the other side of the counter...

O! And thanks to the guys who do support us and do understand when we have problems...

Hi there

I am not joking at all about my games, 7 months ago I gave BT games all my second hand games and since then I have not been unable to use my credit.

They keep telling me that its an error on head offices systems, Im in Pretoria by the way, so im not sure if shanon can help me.

Im glad you guys from BT games check these forums, it shows you guys are really trying to keep on your toes.

I would end up hitting some one or swearing at them. I would not make a good sales person, thanks you the offer though. Well I just hope that you can take the critisism and turn it around for the better. Some valid points have been made and will only make BT better.

Please give me a call on Monday, I will see what I can do for you, I run the Northgate Store...

James... Trust me, It is not as easy when you stand on the other side of the counter...
My only gripe is that I wish people would understand...

Oh well...

Strike 2 now. I figured I must just be over reacting here so I sent an email to BT online about another game I would like (GW-Prophecies). Now being an online shop I figured I could get away with communicating electronically. I was wrong, 5 days and still no reply :(

OK, I'm not trying to stickup for anybody here, but assuming you mailed Jorina, she has been on leave for the past few days and will be back tomorrow.

If you are having problems, please mail me directly at [email protected] and I will make sure the right people get the message if I cannot help you directly.

Hopefully we won't be striked out yet... ;) :D

Well i've had relatively good response from BTGames up to now. Although i am missing the generic "[email protected]" kinda email for exactly the "person x goes on leave" reason. I saw on the website there is like 4 individual emails listed instead of just a generic email that gets routed to whoever is responsible at the time......maybe something to consider in the future?

At one stage i wasn't sure whether i should email Jorina or Shannon [because the one seems to confirm my purchase and the other sort out my login issues...]

Either way, too bad Gothic 3's arrival date went missing [from 20 Oct to TBA] just as i placed my pre-order! Heard no news as to what happened there, had to scramble to pay on the 19t to qualify for the pre-order price and then the
date dissapears :/

Too many excuses from the retailers end it seems in the country as a whole. Especially the ones with the shops. So your life must come to an end because someone has gone on leave? And whose problem is that?
It's a cheesy excuse for cheesy service. Allot of retailers think their only existence is to do you a favor forgetting that without the customer there is no shop.

SA retail service especially in the consumer .T sector is shocking sometimes. You get better service form the flea market :) That's why I don't bother, import makes life allot easier. It takes longer, but I don't ever have to see someone for any reason and surprisingly enough without this human prescience or interaction it actually works out better.

Amen! SA's service levels are very poor. Telkom sets the standard...

Must just say a big thank you to Dean for sorting me out. Very helpful and pleasant.

Spoke to BT games yesterday and i will be picking up my copy on Friday.

I also work in sales and find that most ppl have valid gripes and a small minority of those gripes are just to defame the salesmen or company and find a fault with something for the sake of it. Salesmen are told all the time that we must sit back and take every1's ****. So give the sales guy a break, he is human aswell and maybe he is learning the ropes of pre-orders and could not relay the correct info to you upon u doing ur pre-order. Just chill.
I think that uis why you are so sensitive... you are too close and a little biased at best.
I can align myself more with James viewpoint than I do with yours.
If I am a client and bought merchandise I expect service or answers for the money that I gave them or am thinking of giving them. That is what customer service is all about. I don't need no stroppy remarks or attitudes.
This is not in relation to BT but in general sales.
Honesty and admitting you don't know or made a mistake is also key, if you don't know something, say so, but say you will find out and actually get back to the customer.

It is true everyone is trying to make money online, hence online prices being cheaper these days more often than not.

BTW, I have received nothing but good service from BT. I will be receiving my delivery on Thursday, confirmed today.

Please give me a call on Monday, I will see what I can do for you, I run the Northgate Store...

You cannot just hope / wish people will understand without actually conveying it to them. Customers aren't mind readers.

Communicate with your clients. Not all of them are unreasonable ;) or even stupid, like some sales people think. And don't worry, I have done sales in my past as well. So, I know a bit. :)

You will be surprised to see how understanding customers can be when they know what exactly is happening or going wrong where.

OK, I'm not trying to stickup for anybody here, but assuming you mailed Jorina, she has been on leave for the past few days and will be back tomorrow.
So glad Jorina was not on leave when I mailed her today. :D
Seriously, this is a flawed system and I think it will be better for you guys and the client to have generic e-mail addresses, instead of personalised ones. General IT practice. You are in the IT industry afterall. ;)

Erm, wow, so we ordered 2 CE's of Nightfall + the preorders and paid in full, this according to the original order confirmation. Now we get a NEW confirmation today, with an increased price and get told we owe them the difference.

Not on! I'm not quite sure whats happening at BT but you can't just jump your prices a month down the line if payment has been recieved.

They can and they will as there is a wee line at the bottom of the page "Pre-Release prices can not be gauranteed".
