Not happy with BT Games!

I shouldn't need to... but ofcourse I am not as special as lilDeath!

Sorry, not picking on you, but if you want an immediate response maybe a call would be quicker....the fact that an email was sent doesn't mean that they received it ;)

No, you're special... James, StonedGem and I are speshul - hence, we're members of CIA :D

Lol... I was not wanting an immediate response... I Have Month End On Me! And also, I was not expecting them to phone me !

Oh and do you know what they said when I phoned??? "Sorry, I was reading your mail and we only have 1 phone in the office so I have to wait until the other lady is finished!"(Perhaps they need to have a look at their systems)

Surely e-mail is a lot faster than phoning? This would all have been resolved a lot faster if they just put the whole R/$ explanation into our order confirmations! Or they could've sent out an e-mail this morning with all the information. This would also prevent e-mails going back and forward all the time! They would also probably not have had to deal with so many people today either!

I personally would like to thank Jorina as she has been a great help (not only today). And if I spoke to anyone else besides her I would've lost it!

In todays day and age and especially when dealing with an online store a phone should not be your primary means of contact.

Point 2 : I have paid in full too and as of yet have not had any one contact me telling me the price has changed. If when I pick it up I am asked to pay more I will simply ask for a refund.

Point 3 : I find it odd how none of the other stores I have looked at have a price is not gauranteed on pre-order and their prices have not changed either.

Fair point, but I wouldn't classify them as an 'online store', they are a brick and mortar store with an online presence. In my experience when dealing with an online store the response time is anything between 24 and 48 hrs ;)

Point 2..their newsletter came out to day pointing this out...point 3..vote with your feet then (or mouse button then)

It would have been wiser to send this newsletter out before resubmitting the order forms stating clients suddenly owed them money. Unless they are dead keen on excommunicating all melanin from their hair follicles...

I defer to your higher knowledge here James, did I state that it is acceptable...no...

I was commenting on your dealings with online stores and their typical African time frames not impling that you found it acceptable. No need to defer to anything ;)

Is this thread ever going to die ?

I like BT.... I don't like BT ..... I like BT ..... I don't like BT.

Same thing post after post after post.

Comon guys give it a rest ......:D

These were not African stores, never mind, I accept that you are unhappy with the level of service you are receiving from BT :o

I'm not happy about bt games upping the pricing of a pre-ordered game when they clearly indicate that the price is R410 now they just upped it to R475 wtf

Dudes.... Get with it.... It's called "Rand - $ exchange". WTF is so difficult to understand ?

Well i personally think exchange rate is a lame excuse in general, it just shows a company do not know how to plan : [the only exception is if the currency crash, which is NOT the case with the rand]

http://www.x-rates.com/d/ZAR/USD/hist2006.html
March 6.24359 ZAR (23 days average)
April 6.0811 ZAR (20 days average)
May 6.32246 ZAR (23 days average)
June 6.9738 ZAR (22 days average)
July 7.06881 ZAR (20 days average)
August 6.9503 ZAR (23 days average)
September 7.4355 ZAR (21 days average)
October 7.68368 ZAR (17 days average)

An increase from R410 to R475 = 15% ..... Surely companies have some sort of currency insurance / buffer at least for a MONTH out on importing ? I don't think companies should make the daily/weekly fluctuation of the $/R the consumer's problem , they should then consider getting better importing contacts. Surely importers don't do business like this? [oh, on friday the R/$ was R6.70, but on wednesday when i made the payment it was R8.00, sorry 15% increase for you! ]

An increase from R410 to R475 = 15% .... The rand never "jumped" 15% , it took almost 6 months to depreciate 15% .

I've seen this thing before when the rand hit R13/$ ...companies increase their prices INSTANTLY and DOUBLE the exchange rate and then blame "r/$" and uncertainty...which is a load of hogwash. When the rand drops back to R6.00 , it takes them years to drop the prices....

Anyway this is in general and not specific to BTGames, all companies does it and us little customers just accept it like idiots.

Agreed. All I'm saying is this has been going on & on & on. There is no way this will change. The fact is your going to have to pay the asking price and that is it.

Another thing. Yes the Rand value didn't decrease by 15 % but you need to take other factors into consideration aswell. this also has to do with the Rand - $ exchange. Import taxes, Shiping these are just a few.
