As someone who's used to working with corporates, 90% of their OSS reservations and c*ck ups are in interoperability with MS. This gives MS and Novell a concrete interop platform to sell to customers, which will drive OSS further into companies, previously reluctant to experiment.
Doobiwan, I certainly hope that you're spot-on with that. I've also just this week decided that Suse is the distro for me, but if MS is going to use this as an opportunity to close down one of the big names in Linux, then I'd rather go back to Ubuntu.
