As easy ss it seems to write off the right wing nutters this sort of thing starts raising alarm bells.

It sounds like an organised attack to me.

Is the ANC adopting Mau Mau tactics?

even if it is, it's extremely terrible tactics. why would they be so successful at farm murders then do something so sloppy? also there is no proof that the ANC had anything to do with this, tho it is strange for them to set a house alight and for them to be so many.

People like to dismiss the "conspiracy theorists" for some reason. You know, people who have been saying for years the tap water is not safe, that we will run out of oil / coal, that the planet is warming up, that food production will lag behind population growth, that the ANC will pull Zim tactics, that we are overfishing, that the world economy is unsustainable, and so on.

And when these things come to pass, people act all surprised as if no one ever said anything.

Well, the right wingers' day will come, too. And then everyone will go "no one said this to us".

People are basically stupid.

I am not right wing I am even not South African . In my book this is a pure act of WAR against defenseless people .
What happened in Zimbabwe is a walk in the park compering to what is going to happen here .
In Zimbabwe there was no HATE the why it is in South Africa .

The ANC has everything to do with this! Where were the police? (who, funnily enough are run by the Government)

This was too well planned and executed for it to have been a random attack. Targeting women and children to be burned to death is the sort of terror attack that signifies a well thought out campaign. Taken in the context of Malemas recent statements and the ANC's new proposed policies of land redistribution and this is scary stuff.

Afterall, who stands to gain from this sort of thing?

What can one say, this is pretty bad !

Quite clear that robbery was not the motive ! This is the excuse that the apologists always use.

disgusting...and what would of happened if these innocent people didn't have guns to protect themselves with?

So then the US did fly the planes into the WTC then?

i don't doubt this, but what DOES make it hard to believe is people keep making predictions and they keep coming wrong. when growing up i remember people telling me this country wouldn't last 8 years, and look where we are now? look at the predictions Master Cain makes and how little of them actually happen. look at the "Stop Zuma!" campaign and how overhyped it was.

it also doesn't help that in most cases the people shouting the loudest about the conspiracy theories are also slightly biased with their apparent racism(tho i hope you don't feel that i'm including you in this). i would actually like to hear more discussions and see more references rather than posts that say "get out while you can" and "this is becoming zim 2.0".

most posters embody things i hate in people not because they're preaching a message that i don't like, it's just seems as if they get too excited to post this kind of material, and with me growing up and being told the world was going to end over and over has made me critical of it. people are always quick to make things a racial issue rather than an corrupt system vs. the few people trying hard to make this country work.

i've also noticed that most people who post farm murders seemingly have a complete lack of empathy towards the suffering of other people in this country, or that is at least the idea i get when i read right-wing lunatic websites

Anybody got a unused gun lying around, seems like I should arm myself. This is crazy. Just hope it doesn't spead to the Western Cape. Glad they made it out alive.

@smalltownsky - I'm the OP and if you read my previous posts you'll see that I am no racist right wing nut and you may even notice me avoiding talk about "those blacks." in the OP.

I posted this because I feel that in the current political climate the motives and modus operandii of this farm attack are scary and a serious cause of alarm.

The "plight of the previously disadvantaged" doesn't enter into this debate unless you think that women and children deserve to be burned alive for something that ended 15 years ago.

This was a well planned, well equipped military style operation.

This reminds me of the frog and the hot water.
If you put him in hot water he jumps out.
But put him in cold water and slowly bring it to boil, he doesn't notice he's being cooked alive...

Now I don't care what colour these cowards were, but anybody that can do that to another human - are not human and should put down in the same manner they tried to do to these innocents. No jail time or punishment can fix "it".
