Nvidia GeForce NOW SA launch

I have reached out to Nvidia to start discussions and look at a proposal.
You know, there's some clever peeps at Afrihost, don't be afraid to explore custom in-house solutions either. There's a lot of crazy open source/proprietary software allowing game streaming, might be interesting / cost effective to build some AMD solutions. Just saying, shop around!

I say this as a Nvidia 4070 owner the price made my eyes water I do not want to know what a cabinet of these things costs.. AMD GPUs are attractive because they're more power efficient. Especially when you get into big scale solutions.

Might be a valuable project for everyone involved, definitely new for South Africa. It's definitely easier to buy an all in one solution from Nvidia but I reckon you'll do better long term figuring everything out yourselves.

Also saw that big publishers like Microsoft are very chill with game streaming providers using their games etc, seeing they now own Activision that's huge.

Edit: checking out digital foundry video about this parsec, it's very badass.

I've tested it over fibre and it feels pretty close to playing COD locally at my machine

Given how terrifyingly long it took Rain to get started with GN, I wonder if an internally operated enterprise Parsec solution wouldn't be much faster to bring to market.

Parsec is amazing , I use it on my gaming pc and my friends log on to my pc and we play games that usually require you to physically connect a controller to play in person (like Black ops or Tekken ) but all is possible with parsec (all this happens while they are not at my pc and with fibre they connect to me at 4-7ms)

Since his console packed up when I do to his house I leave my pc on and we parsec to my pc and game on it while I’m at his house what a piece of software

I've used moonlight + sunshine also but I find parsec just easier, you should use it with Playnite to give you that console like experience for when you remote playing from the lounge to your pc.

Seeing as rain doesn't seem to be releasing spots to us Joe public types, what other alternatives are available for sa gamers?

I’ll check that out

We had our meeting with Nvidia. Unfortunately, I am now under NDA and can't disclose anything but discussions are ongoing.
"GO AWAY"
"NO WAIT, COME BACK HERE, SIGN THIS, SHARRAP, NOW GO AWAY!"

This is how they talk when they're worth >$1tn

lol, you'd be surprised how welcoming they are when it comes to GFN or anything to do with their Cloud & Data Center solutions.

I cancelled my GeForce Now sub. The latency is just to high for me in Cape Town. I will resub when there are GFN servers in Cape Town.

Has anyone been contacted with regards to spots becoming available? I'm actually getting skeptical about this service becoming available to people who werent part of beta testing.
