Nvidia GeForce NOW SA launch

If you go to https://play.geforcenow.com/ and then log into the service on the top right, it will prompt you to choose a service provider, you'll have to select "Show providers for other regions" and select RAIN. Then log in from there :)
Looks like they're busy setting it up. Because I I'm getting an error loading the landing page when I click Rain as a service provider even though it worked last week.

When going to Geforce Now it redirects me to the South African landing page, but it doesn't exist. Looks like it's getting closer.

Geforce Now also works on phone (Android) and Tv Box (Google TV).

Played a game of Fortnite (free play) on GFN on my phone using VPN a while ago and it worked surprisingly well taking into account the VPN. Not for competitive play but it as ok to jol around and so.

I've been using it since 2021. If you're using free tier, you need vpn to launch geforce now and discount the vpn once you're in game. But if you pay, it doesn't require a vpn to launch it.

Curious what you've tried playing that way. Seems to me like most games would be unplayable if you're streaming off an EU server due to the distance/latency.

Anyone with some inside info perhaps on this? Strange that they are not throwing any hype at this at all no news or anything.

They probably need to do a crapload of testing with all the other networks in SA to make sure everything works as intended at launch, this can't be an easy thing to get off the ground.

Single player games are fine. Input barely noticable. You're f*cked if you play battle royale games and such.

Let me guess.... delays to Nvidia opening up a South African registration page due to them waiting on SA tax clearance and other bureaucratic requirements of providing the service locally.

It wouldn't surprise me. I don't think I'd even be disappointed at this stage. Just... resigned
