Durban here!Just for interest sake, those of you that received an invite without being a Rain customer, where are you guys located? Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg or Pretoria I presume?

Are you using the app or chrome , as with my experience chrome is way more stable and doesn't get blurry unlike the app ...But I was streaming using the European servers Got a few dropped frames. Wonder if it's my connection

I tried the free tier from EU West. It's not that great. The 169ms latency is a problem in terms of delay with inputs.

Really bad compression methinks. Resolution?
1080p at 60 FPS. That is the max settings for priority tier.
You can reduce it by reducing the slider but being on 1Gbps uncapped fibre I need max quality so speed and data usage is not an issue.

I have an nvidia shield pro and just got the nvidia geforce now beta access. Can i play titles from gamepass on the shield? cant seem to figure it out.
Want to test a big AAA title.

I signed up for the first round of beta and haven't heard a thing.

You can. On the GFN app there is some Gamepass titles available (not all). You open the title, choose xbox as your store and it will ask for your Gamepass login (every time unfortunately) but then you can play and EA titles. I played Starfield and NFS Heat this way

Same. I opt in like a day or 2 after rain added it to their website but no invite on any of my 3 emails I used.
I'm testing on a friends account to see how it is so when it launches, I know what to expect.

Its such bs - makes me mad that we've signed more than a year ago, but haven't received an invite. I expressed my interest again via their site on 2 emails, so yeah, guess its a waiting game at this stage

Hi guys, I got access to the beta this past weekend (received an email on Saturday but only saw it on Sunday)
I'm a non Rain user and the sign up was pretty flawless with no issues.
I often stream to Twitch and there is always blurriness due to foliage in games, due to me having a single pc setup. So I tested Geforce Now by playing New World with medium graphics and balanced settings on the Gerforce app. And I am very impressed with the results. Game loads very fast, connection to EU server is good and stable. And the best of all is there was no blur on my stream for the reason being I am only using my PC to encode which is a huge plus. I am super stoked with the results thus far. I will continue to use Geforce Now until the beta phase is over and probably sign up on full release. I am yet to try other games on it but for now it is only New World, will definitely update here once I have tried other games which is on the gamepass

Congrats and thanks for the info. I'm just trying to see if people in Jhb, Pretoria, Durban and Cape Town get priority over other locations. I'm in Bloemfontein, but no invite as of yet. Seems like there might be a "pecking order" as to who gets beta access based on location.

I would have thought that the beta would be great for stress testing the system but so far I have yet to ever experience a queue to play even at 19:00 at night I can instantly enter into a session.

I must be honest, last night I had 2 ping spikes on the game but after I had to restart because my 90 minutes was done there was an update for GFN. But also yet to still experience a queue. From my understanding the RTX 3060 is the "free tier" overseas. So I do think if they also make it the free tier here and with proper marketing there will be queues

Nah, free tier overseas is still 1060s and 2060 supers depending on the game. Priority is 2080s and 3060s.
This is through Nvidia's official servers, not through alliance partners btw.
As it stands, Rain holds a superior position over most alliance partners since they match Nvidia's tiers when it comes to hardware instead of just having 1 or 2 low end GPUs and charging people for it, like the others.
Hopefully we can get the 4080 tier next year.
