Nvidia GeForce NOW SA launch

Nah, free tier overseas is still 1060s and 2060 supers depending on the game. Priority is 2080s and 3060s.
This is through Nvidia's official servers, not through alliance partners btw.

As it stands, Rain holds a superior position over most alliance partners since they match Nvidia's tiers when it comes to hardware instead of just having 1 or 2 low end GPUs and charging people for it, like the others.

Hopefully we can get the 4080 tier next year.
Info for the free tier was given to me from a friend in the Netherlands, their free tier is RTX 3060. I think the premium rig here in SA will be RTX 3080, hopefully we will see the 40 series being implemented soon tho, unless they surprise us all and already have 40 series ready to go on launch

My bad for the misinformation, was going off of my experience a few months back. Nice to see that they changed it.

One can only hope for such an announcement but Nvidia is keeping that 4080 for themselves lol

Likewise.

Its such bs - makes me mad that we've signed more than a year ago, but haven't received an invite. I expressed my interest again via their site on 2 emails, so yeah, guess its a waiting game at this stage :(
Same situation and i'm in a major city (CPT). My guess is there's no rhyme or reason and they're just throwing a dart to see who gets beta access. :X3: :X3:

Yeah I tested my connection and there is no loss. Stable 2 to 3ms. Must be the server that is under load. I still haven't experienced a queue which is nice.
I have Rain 5g and only get a lowest 65ms to the server from East London , guessing servers are located near JHB.
Starfield works well , only notice a delay on fps

I stand corrected, but I remember some people saying this beta was supposed to last 4 weeks. So are we looking at a November/December timeframe for the launch?

It's included in pc game pass.

Yeah the new FM is really demanding. Have to say that the newest NVIDIA drivers yesterday provided a bit of a speed boost for everyone overall. I'm running everything on High detail, DLSS on Balanced and getting about 72-95 fps with my RTX 4070 Ti on 1440p. Performance would be even better if I had a more recent CPU - still running a i7 8700k (stock speeds). Planning on doing a platform upgrade next year for my birthday though, so looking forward to that :)

Something interesting you mentioned. I wonder how often these rigs get their driver updates...

Feels like Forza is going to need the Ultimate tier for best performance.

GPU drivers I would imagine quite often, but for games I don't think very often. A friend from the Netherlands said he used to wait a week normally if a game updates for GFN to have the game updated. And seems Battlefield 2042 recently updated and from what I see it is unplayable since yesterday due to the update not been done on GFN

Yeah I also complained about that because the new update looks decent and it's open weekend so servers will be decent.

It sucks that it doesn't behave like a VM and allow consumers to update it. The provider needs to do the game updates, I wonder if Rain or Nvidia is in charge of pushing game updates to the service

Because the "cards" are very differant to consumer so likely a much more rigorous process is done.

You say VM but I suspect thats exactly what it is but not VM, rather VGPU with "virtualised" cards emulated of much stronger hardware.

Yep. They use server grade GPUs in their SuperPODs, which are virtually split thanks to their Multi-vGPU thing.

Not sure about the free tier but for the priority and ultimate tier, they use the a10g (Digital Foundry showed this in one of the benchmarks).
Read somewhere that it's a 1:1 ratio for 3080 performance and 1:2 ratio for 3060 performance.

There was also an unofficial spreadsheet that detailed the specs that the rigs had. It's been a while since I looked at it so may go look for it.
