Nvidia GeForce NOW SA launch

R200 x 36 = enough to buy an Xbox series S. If they think they can charge more than that they’re cray-cray.

What are the specs of your native machine? CS2 was playable for me but nowhere near what my PC is capable of, just too much latency.
I use to play it on my work laptop , integrated GPU with 12 GB of ram , It was horrible. I'd say I've actually improved considering I haven't played it for over a year and I was still hitting my shots. Maybe my body just easily adjusts to the latency

Yeah, thats wishful thinkng on my part. Think the amount you mentioned is definitely more realistic.
Bra, you know what, after paying what I paid for this RTX 4070, even at R350 a month it's still a good deal. The price of this card could bag you 4 years easy of Geforce Now, and this thing will be pretty moeg after 4 years from now.

Not trying to cope on your behalf here, Geforce Now is good value for sure. If it's good enough I might even part ways with this GPU and just get a long term GFN sub, honestly. What they don't tell you in the fine print is any bigger gaming components are heavy on juice and heat etc. So within context of Loadshedding you're paying a lot of money to game uninterrupted.

I don't even want to know what it will cost you to run a RTX 4090 rig playing AAA at high refresh rated through like 4 hours of power outage. I like doing sim racing, and bra, some of the rigs + combined with big direct drive steering wheels are edging at 1kw per hour, that's... a lot of fkn power... You're basically boiling a kettle constantly, no man, that's just madness.

So when they do announce pricing, consider the cost of the hardware and keeping that hardware going through loadshedding, you'll quickly see it's a moerse better deal, I reckon.

Seriously? Even if you get the 3080 tier and are lucky enough that your connection is 100% stable (it won’t be), you are still going to have double the latency(optimistically), compressed video and no DLSS 3.5 features like frame generation.

You could just buy a PS5 or Series X with that money and after 3 years you’ll still own the hardware and be able to resell it.

Thanks I had forgotten to do this!

To link Xbox Game Pass to EA:

1. Go to https://help.ea.com/en/
2. Log out if you logged in
3. Click on the login right upper corner
4. Down you'll see "sign in using Xbox live"
5. After you sign in with your Xbox account it'll tell you to sign in with your ea account
6. Done you got your Xbox account linked

To check if the account got linked or not:

1. On the same page https://help.ea.com/en/
2. Go to accounts top left (sign in if you didn't)
3. Then 'Account security'
4. Then 'About me'
5. Scroll down you'll find your Xbox account under 'Connected accounts

To get Xbox Game Pass EA Play games to work in GeForce now:

1. Login to the EA Games client / Origin client (if on Mac)
2. Go to games --> filter via EA Play --> Add to library
3. You can now launch the game in GeForce now via the EAPlay launch option
Which EA GamePass games are currently on GFN?

@BlackStatic oh I see you edited to mention load shedding. I’d still rather just read a book or hit the gym for those two hours than to lose a big boss fight in Elden Ring but be unsure if it was my fault or a random spike in latency. That would drive me absolutely nuts.

Teraco has sufficient back up power, why would Rain need to cater for it?
Sure, it is already something Rain pays for, but in my mind it would mean higher costs to keep Nvidia servers up and running in SA compared to other regions. Someone always has to pay.

Let’s not forget that the whole idea behind shared hardware is lower cost. You aren’t actually getting a 3060 or 3080 to yourself. You have a time share on it, so don’t compare that to the cost of owning the GPU itself.

I wish linking Xbox Game Pass games to Ubisoft was easy...

I don't own a Windows machine and both the Xbox / Ubisoft clients are Windows only...

Then you need to have both installed, login to the xbox client, attempt to play or add the Ubisoft game to library and then and only then will it be usable by GeForce now as far as I can see...

Lol, so my boyfriend also got an invite for the GFN beta and he tried to sign up earlier this week, but the signup did not allow him to select the priority plan. Rain phoned him yesterday and told him that they saw that he tried to sign up, but they then said that he will have to wait a bit as they had to temporarily suspend further signups due to a breach in the beta signup system :sneaky:

Upgraded my line speed form a 40/40 to a 80/20.

If it resolves the grainy gfx issue, I'm buying Baldur's Gate 3!

Are you struggling with streaming quality?
Yea, tried Starfield and the image were really poor. Did a network test and it showed the best I could get was 1600x900 if I remember correctly.

Hopefully the 80/20 makes a difference.

Ohh okay. Damn. I didn't even test that. I just moved my slider to the max bit rate from the start. That is interesting.

Looks like you can go here and link without the need for Windows PC - BUT... I can't figure out how to add more than the initial Tom Clancy Rainbox Six Siege game :X3:

EDIT: Looks like claiming one game will claim them all!

AC Mirage just crashes now - all the other games work. I suspect a bug with the Ubisoft client (reddit seems to hint at a hidden popup).

I haven't played much of AC Mirage yet have so much to play but it works for me?
