Hi all,

So building a new ganing rig in the next few months...

I notice there are many manufacturers of the cards (msi, zotac etc)

What is the preffered brand to buy? If any.
Was looking at the OC edition.

Anyone with some feedback would be appreciated.
 
The cheapest 6GB one.

Really doesn't matter all that much with the 1060. Don't waste money with OC models, you can just use the software and put that OC on yourself.

Also what are you requirements and budget?
 
Honestly it is a terrible time to try build now, mostly because stock is an absolute nightmare, That being said i would recommend MSI or Gigabyte either of those brands are rather easy going when it comes to warranties other than that the all pretty much the same.
 
just buy the cheapest 6gb model with dual fans. they all OC to within 100MHz of each other and you are not going to notice the 1-2fps difference while gaming.

something else to keep in mind is that nvidia will probably release their new gpus soon.

non z-series coffeelake motherboards should also be out soon as well saving even more cash unless you wanna go with a k series cpu.

also look at carbonite for used as gpu & ram prices are stupid right now.

There's a guy unloading 48 3Gig 1060's on carbonite for R4200 each. He mined them but iirc they were in warranty.
He hasn't bumped in a few days so you'll have to go looking for his thread. The thread name was 48 x 1060 or similar iirc.
 
You're better off paying double for a non-mining card.

Why would you want to waste so much money? Unless the card is badly damaged I see no reason why purchasing a pre-mined card is an issue.

I purchased an old pre-mined 7970 a few years ago which I've given to buddy of mine, he's still happily using the card without issues.

Been trying to find the 48 card thread i mentioned but seems it's gone.
Here's a new more current one. R4k per card and OP claims they are 3 weeks old.
