Hey all,

Was just wondering what application you guys use for NZB's in linux.

I discovered a great little app called LottaNZB. It doesn't have a lot of options, but it's really lightweight, easy to use and quick. Ubuntu users can install it straight from the software center.

It would be great if we could compile a list to see which is the most used app.

you can also try pan newsreader or klibido. one of the two (think it was klibido) failed on me on my new arch install though

EDIT: These really aren't all that powerful but they get the job done. You can also use par2verfiy and par2repair for repairs from the command line if that's your thing

I tried out SABnzbd, but it doesn't seem to work in Chrome - I can't add nzb files. Works fine in Firefox, but I would rather not switch between browsers the whole time for one app so I'll stick to LottaNZB.

whats better about SABnzbd compared to Alt.binz?

There's also scripts for sabnzbd that read your hdd, and automatically download latest episodes... which is great when eps come out at like 5am. Script is called SABSync and works only for tv series. For movies you can use CouchPotatoe which has its own WebGUI

if you decide to pay the once off fee for nzbmatrix, you have access to their rss feed. so i use rss.nzbmatrix with sabnzb (and the rss feature in there). which means the series i like are automatically downloaded as soon as they become available.

Don't even need that, you can just use sickbeard with sabnzbd and it will do the same without paying a cent. It checks TVDB and uses nzbs.org to grab the nzb files, not only that, it also updates XBMC's database as well.
