Oasis

Lol non of them have an MTV unplugged performance where the lead singer didn't perform and was drunk heckling from the balcony and still the performance ends on many an MTV best of unplugged lists.

I am not talking showmanship, I am talking musicality.

they were popular, but the music was quite frankly bad

so they had to be good on stage to make up for it...

Yeah but they never stopped. There was a period where they went downhill but came up again. Their latest shows have been really good.

yeah the load/Reload stage was terrible.
and St. anger was one of the worst CD's I ever bought.

but i moved on from them at a very young age and stopped caring.

People love nostalgia.

They will flock to the shows the same way they do to Roxette (even though the lead singer has passed).

why does it matter what they look like lol? They are in their 50s? Y'all moan about anything

Hetfield looks pretty rough and he's been in and out of rehab more times I can remember
i was pointing out a response to the statement about old ballies reuniting and looking bad for their age.

interesting how people focus in on Metallica that were in tehir early 20's when they started, and ignore Judas Priest who were late 20's when Breakign the law came out (and that was not their first album)

Rob Halford was born in 1951 and he is still touring and kicking ass.
James Hetfield was born in 1963
Liam Gallagar was born in 1972

a mediocre band with mediocre music.

the same 5 cords.
the same lyrical themes.
the same tempo.

in terms of brit pop they were the best selling but by no means the best.
and when you compare them to other similar non brit pop bands at the same time in the post grunge era again, there are better selling and better sounding acts out there.

Radiohead, Bush, Seether, The butterfly effect, breaking Benjamin, Coldplay, Kayne, Placebo

all of those are the same time, and similar sounds without resorting to the same 5 cords, while exploring more lyrical themes.

but outside of the fact that they are the musical equivalent of a wet rag lying on the floor what I have always disliked most about them is the attitude they have. maybe its only one of them that has the attitude problem, maybe its both. but they still have a higher opinion of themselves then the music is backing up.

Came in with "superior music tastes" and lists overrated average bands LOL

yes overall average bands still better than Oasis.

reading comprehension seems to be a problem, so I will explain it slowly for you.

I listed bands from a similar time in similar styles that are better musically.
I did not list the greatest bands of all time, or even my favourite bands of all time. I mentioned bands that are directly comparable in when the music came out, as well as the genre.
cant really compare Oasis to something like Queen because they were not around at the same time, so musical influences will be different.
and you cant really compare Oasis to say, Backstreet Boys because they are not in the same genre even though they were around at the same time.

all the bands I listed were around at the same time, and in the same genre. so they can be compared to Oasis.
and yes all are average bands because the post grunge and brit pop genre was at best average.

I also don't think Seether, Butterfly Effect and Breaking Benjamin sound anything like Oasis lol
strip away the distortion on the guitars and its the same thing.

post grunge is brit pop with distortion and no ~~brattish~~ British accent.

you can even add in Stained, creed and Live to the post grunge group and still the same thing will apply

edit: the brattish was a typo, but honestly it kind of works to describe the brit pop genre as well.

Yea no, you are not going to convince me those bands sound anything like Oasis, sheesh.

We get it, you don't like em, good thing you don't have to listen to them ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

LOL, the myBB trait when the member's argument has been dismantled and they have been shown to be wrong, so they resort to personal posts and insults.

Not really....

Oasis = Rock

As opposed to

Radiohead = Alt Rock
Bush = Grunge/Post-Grunge
Seether = Alt Rock/Post-Grunge
The Butterfly Effect = Metal/Alt-Metal
Breaking Benjamin = Post-Grunge/Hard-Rock

I'll let you explain how Kanye remotely fits into the above, but I am guessing you meant Keane which is Alt-Rock.

It reminds me of the 80s/90s when all mothers said metal including glam-metal was Satanistic. It has distorted guitar, must be evil.
