Observatory ADSL problems

I play BF3 in the DGL and I am having packet loss issues which are affecting game play.
I have been having the problem for the passed week or so and since I work during the day I cant sit on the phone to Telkom.

--At around 5pm the problem really starts to become noticeable. My ping jumps to 80 where it is usually 20-30.
I get around 30ms jitter and and start losing packets.

I am on the SOUTRIVIER (WSRR)
Exchange

--021448xxxx

--2mbps

--Afrihost but have tested with other ISP's

--5-10pm. I work till 5 and cant test during the day.

--The line syncs at just over 2mbps

Sounds like congestion problems... Nothing you can do about that unfortunately.

Can confirm. During the day its hit and miss OP. I study from home (student). The only time where internet is good is after 00:00.

My ping to the 1st tracert hop is around 150ms during the day and around 50ms during the night. I play dota 2 and get ~90ms on local servers.

I am on the SOUTRIVIER (WSRR)
Exchange

--021448xxxx

--2mbps

--Afrihost (Business Uncapped) formerly on MWEB premium. Afrihost Business is definately better

--Line syncs at 8mbps though. on ADSL_G.dmt not ADSL 2

Hi

I am based in the Walmer Estate area Salt river exchange which is probably the same one you using.

There is an open issue logged there for extreme congestion, only feedback given is that it could take upto 6 months to resolve ( which I feel is utter BS)

I'm running a 4mb uncapped account, syncing at 8mb ( was using 8mb account previously ) and get an immaculate connection.
My exchange obviously is also Soutrivier.

I removed myself from Afrihost however almost immediately after having my line installed, as my connection with them was utter rubbish.

My ISP is Webafrica, and have had nothing but a perfect connection.

Unfortunately my telephone line is dead as of yesterday afternoon, no voice.. no data. Have logged two faults with Telkom.

I'm around the corner from you guys in Mowbray, on the Rondebosch exchange. Line is terribly slow. Could the congestion issue in Obz knock-on to RDB?

I'm near Hartleyvale and pay for a 10Mbps line, but could only get it to sync at 7Mbps, but it was very very unstable. So I got it downgraded to sync at 4Mbps. The line is pretty stable, but the stats are as follows.

Attenuation 47db/14.5db (Down/Up)
Noise Margin 3db/12db (Down/Up)

It's pretty marginal and I resent paying for 10Mbps when the line quality is so poor that I only see 40% of that speed.

Pinelands here - 021 531...

Terrible time connecting. Better at 7am. I hope this posts. Most pings and traceroutes don't work. None successful to telkom.co.za. I used google instead.
