The house where I stay already have a Dish and DSTV decoder. I wonder if you can connect a second ODM decoder to that? If the channel selection is nice then I will definately consider getting me one of these ODM babies :)

i dont watch sport, so this sounds perfect to me!

wow their most expensive is half the price of monochoice? well well, things are gonna get real messy soon!

This is where my problem and I think a lot of other Multichoice subscribers' problem come in.

I only have DSTV for the sport. Nothing else.

But who knows. Maybe Multichoice will feel some pressure a year or two from now and drop prices or maybe sell Supersport transmissions to ODM.

It said in the fin24 article that existing dishes will have to be re-aligned.

If I can get the same variety of entertainment on ODM as DSTV but only without sport, then I will probably forego the sport and welcome the 50% plus saving on subscription with ODM.
Hmm, I wonder if DSTV will launch a "no-sport" package soon? ;)

If you don't watch sport why would you want DSTV? This sounds like the right alternative choice.

Hopefully DSTV will wake and up and offer a sport free bouquet that competes against this.

Where is their satelite ? If their satelite is the same direction as DSTV then this would be great.

EDIT: Ok I see its not

I will only believe this stuff when I actually see it happening. And as for nochoice dropping prices? thats against everything they stand for.

only niche sports :(
i want my rugby, cricket, F1 etc...

The only sport I watch is MMA, i.e. UFC so I'm definitely going to sign up.

We tried MultiChoice's compact package but with no children's tv to speak of we switched back to the full overpriced bouquet.

If these guys can provide something along the lines of Disney or Ceebee's then we'll downgrade [or remove Mnet] and subscribe to ODM.

I see no one watches religious TV ;)
