ODS or Openweb uncapped?

Eben, are you able to use your own router or are you using thiers as part of a package?

hiya Eben , just wondering havent heared from you in a while .... any updates on ODS for us please

its a bit early will give you guys an update after the weekend

Sorry, it turned out to be that I can't be the judge of theire service, i'm currently on IS 512k fibre and its all they promise it to be 24/7 on any protocol full 512k and occasionally the odd bump to 1mbps.

Sorry again for keeping you guys waiting for nothing.

hey eben, just wondering here, whats ur latencies in guild wars and wow?

Why can't you judge their service? Hows international speeds, is it stable are any slowdowns bad, etc? Roughly how often does your speed reach 1mbps.

I'm really interested as I've been considering an uncapped account too. Thanks.

The 1meg burst happens every couple mins but take note that i'm talking about the IS 512k fibre not the ODS.

The reason why i dont wanna judge ODS is because i recon i'm just too far away (grabouw) hence the reason why i did not take the service and opted for the IS fibre. ODS were very helpful to be honest.

Here is some screen grabs if you wanna see for yourselfs - just two rules

1) dont judge them on the speed shown by me - there was other problems that caused it
2) dont kill my server, its not uncapped :-)

ouch i feel the pain hehe

Damn, looking at your speedtest results you connection is incredibly slow. I know you said there were other problems, but it's even slower than ISDN.

hey don't diss ISDN

:D

I used to use (and naively love my ISDN line) I would make it work like a packmule in a chinese prison camp. Though considering the price, speed and problems I had with it I've got nothing good to say about it.

That's another reason why i've decided to go with the IS fibre just wanted a alway on, uncapped, faster than what i can affort speed with Diginet, and after about 3months i now have that and i'm happy.

IS FIBRE:

Benefits
Low Latency at maximum 280 ms
Low Packet-Loss at maximum 2%
High Availability at minimum 99.8%
SLA offered 24-hour helpdesk support
Fixed monthly fees

thanks Eben for the speedtest results, are these for ODS Fibre??

it was from when i tried the ODS 512k fibre but again, there was issues with the connection and it was never sorted

I am with ODS now with a 512K Business ADSL account via IS and am getting terrible speeds.

I have a 4mb line with telkom and am getting anywhere between 150K and 300K and am downloading between 10kbps and 35kbps which I find very frustrating & annoying

Not sure if all their account are slow seeing as their fibre account is also slow
