That game was strewn with errors from the get-go. Few multiple-phase plays. Tactical kicking was off from both teams. Goal kicking was atrocious. Play , even when it was loose, was very static. Nah - a close game it was, for sure. But an entertaining game for a neutral? No, it was rather forgettable...

One of the best games i have seen, that is how a final should be. Two teams bashing the shyte out of each other in an epic do or die situation is always awesome to watch.

SA would have creamed them ..... thanks again Bryce, you and Paddy got your way eh.

Yeah, there were errors, but come on dude, the game was never boring. A lot of the errors came from positive play and there was no dirty or negative play at all. The ref made some mistakes and there was some knock ons poor kicking as you say, but, dude, it's a WC Final, they are not known for expansive play and perfect execution. Over analysis leads to missing the game that is being played.

A friend told me yesterday that Bryce Lawrence was suspended, is this true?

Doubt it, Paddy would never allow it because then he'd have to admit that the ref had a negitive impact on the game. And that would open up a whole can of worms that would not suite his agenda.

Thanks Ronjay.

Omg New Zealand at the end were being SUCH IDIOTS!

Can you imagine playing a world cup final with your 4th choice fly half, a scrum half who is playing the worst game of his career and a hooker who is really battling to hit his jumpers.

Any other side would have been hammered by 20 points. It showed great courage (and a bit of luck) from the All Blacks to win the game. They were exceptional in defence. They may not have played their best game in the final but they were, by a long way, the best side in the tournament and worthy winners.

I though Joubert did not have the greatest game but he was consistent and that's all that a team really wants.

I don't think so but I would hope that it was the case. He really ruined the game. While we should have won it anyway and our inability to score tries came back to haunt us, I don't think we would have beaten NZ in the semi anyway because they played really well in that game.

Make that 9th choice fly half and you have WeePee's season.

Congrats to NZ and well done to the French as they did show that they were not push overs.

I do however feel that the ABs were not playing all that well and that 'n bit of a stronger team might have beaten them.

We would'a creamed 'em. Looked to me as if the All Blacks were a little lost without Carter. Even when Williams came on for Nonu they didn't look like world beaters. Nonu is just a brute with speed, Wepu is a great scrummie but shouldn't be anywhere near a kicking tee, McCaw was quiet and Dagg is over rated. That said, the Frenchies played far better rugby then was expected and kept the ball away from the AB's and kept them in their half, NZ don't like to be kicked back;).

I really think in the last 10 - 15 minutes France had the opportunity to win that game and they didn't by choosing not to take a drop goal attempt....
