I'm not going to blame the ref. We had our chances, we never took them. Yes he was ****, but we had more than enough chances to win it.
 
Def backing Wales for this WC... and it will be epic if they do win...

As for the future for the Boks.. yes it does look VERY good with the talent we have available to us.
I'm just hoping that there is more emphasis placed on proper ref'ing in the future because this WC has been properly cocked up by pisspoor ref'ing.
 
Oh darn... Just realised the French F ucks might just catch a wake up and decide to play rugby...


Anybody to put some money on the AB's choking against the French AGAIN ???

Doubt it. We have seen that they are immune to criticism. Like always they can get away with doing whatever they want.
 
Way past my bedtime, going to go dream of bryce lawrence lying in a springbok ruck, while another bryce lawrence is reffing so he gets his face mauled to ****. SHould feel better when i wake up ;/

I'm with you here. More than just that, no Aussie deserved the man of the match. Quite simply someone like Schalk who broke two lines, ran nearly 150m, didn't miss a tackle and was so influential deserved the title more.

Normally I'd agree that you can't blame the ref but in this case he really and truly cost us the win. The breakdown, high tackles ignored, obvious defensive line offsides ignored even after warning them, tacklers lying all over our ball consistently, that second forward pass that was flat and the scrums - they were all blown shockingly and always in favour of the Aussies.

In that situation, the ref is entirely to blame. Looking at the game stats, you can easily tell that something wasn't kocher for us to have lost it. Any one of the plethora of mistakes Lawrence made could, and more than likely would have won us that game...

If only. That would at least make me feel a little better.

I must say Lambie impressed me today. He handled the pressure very well and helped open a few gaps. I prefer Aplon as an attacking player but Lambie did well.

You implied that we don't have proper coaches which is bulltwaddle. I agree that we could do with a new coach as we introduce a new brand of players into the squad, but only for that reason. Not because pdv has done a bad job. And to lump the entire coaching compliment into one statement like you did was just silly...
 
Well you can blame danie for that stupid pen he gave away as well. That basically cost us the game. Silly error

There were only two disappointing players who took the pitch today and they were Habana (who needs to hang up the boots now) and Danie Rossouw who was just a non-entity on the pitch in running play and who's shocking schoolboy discipline cost us the last penalty which won the game for the Aussies.

I don't think you can really be pissed off with the Aussies. They realised that they could get away with murder and subsequently committed it in rugby terms...

Sure, I agree. That doesn't mean I hate Oz any less though. If we just choked it would have been so much better but losing like this just makes me feel ill. :sick:
 
On another note. Are we still gonna be forced to see all the springbok promo videos on supersport now that we're out...? I really hope not.

Gary Gold has impressed me. He took a group of experienced test rugby forwards and successfully introduced a more dynamic mindset and game plan. Our forwards have been epic and this game showed our lineout and scrum advantages.

However our decision not to commit more players to the breakdown and therefore not cleaning out enough in the first half cost us too. What I'm looking forward to is the young blood coming through who can be coached to run on as support players, even the tight forwards. NZ do this very well which is why they play such fluid running rugby...
 
I also think for some reason a lot of our running attacks seemed uncoordinated, no momentum and we also crashed the ball far too much, the ball was slow coming out so we never built the momentum.

There was no doubt we pomped the aussies but you need points, aussies were also mighty in defense and yes they did some naughty things but why not when the ref is on your side?

I think more than ref our silly errors and not converting the massive possession and territory into points cost us the game. We can blame the ref all we like but we lost that game with silly errors. So many times we looked on for a try and we knocked it on. In all honesty we never looked capable of winning this world cup. It was not the best idea to rest so many people during the tri nations. Rusty players going into a world cup can only end poorly. We always seemed well short of tries and it cost us today.

Smit should not have started either, as captain he should have done what was best for our team. A true leader would think about his team before his own personal gain.
