Official 2015 Currie Cup Thread

Rasta Rasivhenge is the oke who blows his whistle SO loud, it sets off car alarms outside the stadium. Really... Even when a kicker slots a shot at goal, he blasts it! And yes, he's tiny (probably why he tries to compensate with his whistle blowing).

Still, not a bad ref so once I've turned down the volume on the tv, the game will be watchable.

No but he is the one who fled to Australia because of Andre Watson. Even got Ozzie citizenship (his wife is a Sheila, I believe) and identified himself as Australian during the latest sevens season.

When Watson got fired he was on the first flight back.

Great guy. Not my favourite referee though.

Fastest referee in the world I believe. Just watch him jog next to the sevens speedsters when they score.

All the pressure on the Lions here (anyone else drawing a comparison here with a certain semi final this Saturday? :) ). The way they've played this season (plus the hiding they gave WP in the round robin stage) means they really should NOT lose. But knock out rugby has a strange effect on teams (as Apoc alluded to earlier).

If they decide to keep it tight and play a percentage based territorial 10 man game, it could backfire and work in WP's favour. If they stick to what they know (a tried and tested free flowing open game) then they should walk the final. WP have more game breakers with x factor but as a whole, the Lions are just a better outfit.

Any opposition play can be disrupted. I'm in the opinion that Dobson is struggling to get to the right approach on this level, senior players are developed, and it is new to him.
 
I think WP will burst the Lions bubble. WP have been there and can handle the pressure better. Lions will just suddenly freeze up as they know they are the favourites to win. The pressure will get the better of them. Going for a 32 - 24 scoreline.

WP unchanged, three changes to the Lions.
 
I'm sooo nervous about Saturday's game after our performance against the Cheetahs. Hopefully our handling will be a lot better, I'll be very very very sad if the Lions don't take it.

It's definitely not going to be a cake walk. WP will bring it, and the Lions inexperience might count against them. All I know is, it's going to be an epic battle.
