Official 2015 Super Rugby Thread

Highlanders playing some top class rugby.

They really did play well.

Doesn't excuse the piss poor Cheetahs defence. Gave them acres of space to run into.

And our lineouts were so poor we could just give the ball straight to the Highlanders every time.

^ :D I approve.

Interesting day ahead for Cheetahs.

Looks like Franco Smith will be taking over as soon as next week.

Os du Randt asked for early release from his contract to join his new club in Japan. Board approved it and now Naka wants out quicker too.

Official announcement later.

So Saturday's game against the Lions will be Naka's last.

This is a dramatic and quick turn of events?

Geeze, hectic.

When Naka slammed the table and the coke fell over and spilt all over the table I almost got sad. :p

Great so now they will play for Naka and smack the Lions.

Which is why I might just take the wife and kid to the game.

Historic match for the Cheetahs this. :D

Yeah hectic indeed.

Makes you think the "Naka is retiring because of other business opportunities" was just a poor spin on him being fired at the end of the season.

Just saw this pic on my Facebook feed of a guy in Tygerberg High School standing next to Eben Etzebeth:

Sure I heard this morning that Os has been released with immediate effect. Also sounded like the Frans was taking charging now and not later?

Yeah, Os got a release to head to Japan early, and Naka doesn't want to continue without his full team. So Franco Smith is taking over from next week's game.

I think Apoc is saying that Naka would likely have been sacked end of the season and this is one way to leave with a bit more dignity.
