hey all. getting the htc hero next week and need a cool navigation software for it. am gonna be a newbie so can anyone tell me... does the Ndrive include voice guidance and how do i get it? you can post or pm me. thanks so much...

i, like kvi, also had an x1 and installed many new roms, so im shivering in anticipation of my first time with Ms Android. hope she'll leave me as happy as she's left kvi...

dude coming from x1 you gonna be stunned by this "roid" , im an ex iphone owner, and this is another machine altogether.

yeah we will sort you out with ndrive or something
 
Anybody successfully booted into recovery mode on the G1 by pressing home and Power ? My phone just hangs when I try to do this. They reason I want to do this is to load a cyanogen rom by using the recovery flasher app. Any other method to load a rom ?
 
K, dudes, seriously need some help or advice here, been searching for hours now and cannot find a way to see paid apps in the market without installing custom firmware, something I really don't want to do.

Is there anyway to view paid apps in the market or is there a website that we can use to purchase apps without going through the store?

Right now I am looking for this app:

Can someone here please point me in the general direction for setting up MMS on the android, my wife got one, and so far vodacom has not been any help, and neither has leaf, I know how to get to the apn and so, but what are the settings, I'm on mtn so I have no idea what they are

Only a few countries get the paid apps for legal reasons - we're not one of them...

So that I can get root access and load a custom ROM. MagicDude4Eva's link only work for for 1.1 not 1.5. Unless you know how to get root access on a G1 running 1.5 ?

have you tried it? I had sofar two confirmations that guys on the official HTC 1.5 firmware have been able to flash recovery via fastboot without an issue. you might also try other options such as 1-click root --- check out the XDA forum there are a number of ways (try fastboot first)
 
Just thought I would share something I picked up with my Magic. I was having problems accessing any https sites on the browser. The solution was to delete the proxy address from the VLive! APN.
 
you HAVE to download Zombie Run from the market..... ive just driven to cresta shopping mall. nearly got attacked by zombies on the corner of judges and republic. quick thinking saved me :)
 
Just got my HTC hero. Damn, its the coolest phone i've ever had...
Everything is just so completely customizable, its an absolute pleasure to use. I was going to get either the Hero or the N97, and am super happy with my choice.
The apps are pretty cool (get the Metal Detector App if you want to make iphone ppl jealous!)

Not sure how drop proof it is though....

i've read some mixed review about using the Hero rom for Magic. A number of forums have mentioned that it runs pretty slow on Magic.
