Thanx a lot, Milestone it is :D. You forgot to mention multi-touch, or is this just related to the version/ROM of Android the Milestone is running?

Yes there is, have a look at the post I made a couple of pages ago on rooting. You have to fake the provider in the market.

besides... HTC is very reasonably priced... high end moto's always were priced at a premium. (hopefully leaf dont read this and get ideas)
 
Hey guys.

I'm wanting to root my phone and install the cyanogen rom but im pretty nervous about doing this. I have the 1.5 htc dream but doesn't have a mtn boot screen like others has said theirs has. It just has the standard htc loading screen. Which link should I follow? There seems to be the standard one and the Rogers one which has the same radio as my dream. Is it easy to restore the htc firmware from the leaf site if anything goes wrong?
Which tutorial should I actually follow?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
 
nice.... seems as if most reviews now about any android device are positive. says much for the strength of android as an OS. remember a couple years back early windows on htc devices was disastrous. wm has redeemed itself a bit but seems the future will be android.
htc says they are releasing at least 5 android devices this year, as well as the hardware for googles next device.
 
hey tinman. i havnt done any of my android devices yet coz im also too nervous.

the tutorials on xda are the best. good luck mate :)

eish every day im getting closer to putting on custom rom. i think i might have reached that point now izak. maybe tonight is the night.
 
Hey yeah I want to upgrade tonight as well. I have the SPL 1.33.0010 and the radio of 3.22.20.17 do you know whether I must follow the rogers update? It seems to have the same numbers as above.
 
Kvi go for it! You won't be disappointed. Remember to leave your phone alone when updating the radio... even if it takes too long. That's the only way you can brick it. All other failures can be fixed.

@tinman: I have no idea what rogers are and I have no experience with dreams sorry. Myself and Kvi got hero's.
 
Look on page 11 from this thread. We need to copy that info to the mod thread. That will guide you very good.
