Official Black Ops Discussion Thread

So I managed to solve my "Fetching stats" problem.

I have a huge ping issue though. I cant find any SA servers. Every time its the same 4 that show up in the list and when I join a server my ping increases exponentially in within seconds. I join a server and its at 60 and after few seconds its at 999. Anyone else experiencing this? I have a Mweb Uncapped account so there should be any issues.....

My browser is closed in the background, so that cant be it.

Any idea what could be wrong?
 
points and laughs ........... tsk tsk, after the disaster that was MW2, you guys should have known to wait at least a week before buying to avoid all this k@k stress.

Having the same problems wrt the servers, but my ping is fine and stable........ was running now at around 40, but I still xp some lag.
*sniff**sniff* is that a patch i smell................ lord I hope so, seems like there are a few people that are having some issues. :D

Yeah, but isn't the drive for free peering in the best interest of the end user? And MWEB is offering free peering with SAIX? SAIX is refusing to do it free(typical telkom). I see a lot of telkom guys may have to buy some data from Mweb, or an Mweb peered ISP to play this.
 
Hmmmm. I did a speedtest with speedtest.net and its 296ms???? surely that is not correct. Any ideas what could be causing this?
 
This is what we get for legally purchasing games. I bet there are quite a few people enjoying their pirated copies right now.

I've been sitting here for almost an hour waiting for the ~100MB update to download from Steam and it says that I still have to wait 1h44m, fun! Needless to say that I am quite p'd off. Download speeds of between 3kB/s and 30kB/s (mostly closer to 3kB/s. of course). Steam is the worst piece of garbage software ever forced into the market. It hangs 90% of the time it's open.

Only getting my copy of Black Ops after exams. (25 Nov) So it hopefully gives Activition, Steam and Mweb some times to sort a few things out before I come to play :D
 
wow alot of b!tching and mouning.

Purchased mine at midnight...... could not install as it was not activated. Well yes that p!ssed me off!!!
8 o'clock and the game installs fine, start playng SP. Which is pretty good. I must say, nothing new in any way for a FPS.
The MP story gets sorted, and I go online for a few games. Found a list of all the local servers and added alot of them to my favourite list. Yes, some had a bit of lag, but it is not as if we never had that before. But still great fun.

Now it is learning these new maps again!!! WHOOOHAAA
