I doubt any club would sign a player on loan with a "if he plays very well we can cancel the deal" clause

Loan deals can be cancelled.Never heard of a loan deal that could not tbh.
The parent club might only receive part of the fee then but they are allowed to cancel.

Loaning players

Once a loan deal is in action, the loan deal can be cancelled by either team once a 4 week period has elapsed. A loan deal that is cancelled means that the player will return to his original club after the next league matches. If the deal isn't cancelled then the player will return once the loan period is over.

This is just an example btw but it's the same in the real world as far as I am aware.

Edit: Cancelling loans may be restricted to only during transfer times.

Here's a real world example as well:

Here the borrowing club actually wanted to cancel the loan.

I dont doubt that loans can be cancelled.

but, if everton, last year, were top of the table, with lukaku on 30+ goals, and chelsea in second place, they most definitely would not be able to cancel the loan to stop everton getting lukaku's goals and pipping them to the title.

Not sure what the rules are in cases like that.

Well now that he is gone we have the weekend to move for a 3rd striker.

Remy is a choice.
Welbeck?
Maybe should have kept Bamford back.

Don't think we will take a huge name signing, clash with Costa.

Players can only be recalled in cases where a squad has no other player available in specific position, and it's outside the transfer window, iirc. I think we did something similar when we had a goalie crisis and had to recall someone we had loaned out.

Someone posted a youtube video of his goals for Liverpool. It's amazing how quickly he went from frikken brilliant to hindered by his mental blocks and knee problems. The dude scored some serious brilliant goals at LFC.

Wasn't that City?

Last year we waited it out until January and then signed that Almunia look-alike instead of having to recall one of our youngsters who we'd loaned out.

And yes, Torres was **** hot at Liverpool.

I think it'd be a great signing if true.

I cant help to feel that this will be another Ba. Just like Ba he's not really what Mourinho wants I think but we need a striker and he's the easy option.
It's nothing against him. I think he's a great player but it just feels to me a little like we are in a corner now and need to make a quick signing for cover and we are signing somebody with no real chance of becoming the no. 1 choice.

All this said I am extremely glad the Torres nightmare is coming to a close and I'm glad that with another striker we'll have some decent competition in that position which is what we've been lacking for a few seasons now.

Yup. Clubs I run as businesses these days. But I think the new owner will be his son.

His son already has stakes in an oil field in Russia and tried an (unsuccesful) take over of a football club somewhere. Basically following in dad's footsteps so if the old man pegs today, he is the leading candidate to take over from what I know... or his assistant does as she handles most fo the Chelsea stuff anyway.

Remy for 8.5 million pounds is a bargain. You can't really sign a forward who is happy to play second fiddle and is still decent for much less, nevermind on such short notice. I think Remy was signed in particular because he can play on the wing as well so we can let Mo Salah go to make our foreign player number alright.
