Progress in the Carling Cup, 2 from Lamps, 1 from Malouda and Kalou, another 4-0 smashing of Pompey in such a short time, gotta hurt!

Hmmm, the squad injury list is now looking very worrying:

Essien
Deco
Joe Cole
Ashley Cole
Drogba
Carvalho
Alex (80%)
Terry (90%)
Ballack (90%)

Wonder if we will have players on crutches for the Villa game?

That looks like almost the entire Chelsea 1st Team is injured...

Yeah, not looking good.

Deco should be back next week, Essien end Nov, waiting news on Drogs...

DROGBA INJURY UPDATE
Posted on: Thu 02 Oct 2008

Following examination of the injury suffered by Didier Drogba in Wednesday night's Champions League game in Romania, the following medical bulletin has been released:

Didier Drogba has had two forceful rotations in his knee and ankle. Fortunately, he has avoided any significant ligamentus rupture.

He will not be requiring surgery. We will keep him under observation for the next two or three days before putting an estimate on how long he'll be out, but we're certainly looking at weeks, not months.

Great result against Villa, dominating performance with key players missing, well done!

Brilliant performance away from home, 5 goals, clean sheet, and some players still out and/or rested!

Pity about the losses to Liverpool, Roma and Burnsley in the last 3 weeks... but things still looking good with us on the summit if the table!!!

Yeah, the summer transfers would play a key role! Chelsea, Liverpool & Man Utd are going to go all out at the end of the season...Manchester City will be a team to watch this tranfer period.

They will try buy everyone, causing havoc and overpricing many players.

Still, depth of squad matters, and that is where Chelsea are very strong. Look at their current injury list, and still pulling out the performances.

....and when the injured player (Drogba) comes back, he gets a ban!

Haha ya... thats ridiculous!!! I cant belive they banned him!!! I disagree with u guys saying that Chelsea will spend big in the summer transfer market, Abromnovich wants the club to start making a profit and they cant to that if they spend huge amounts of money in the transfer window!!!

Please people - Chelsea are sucking at the moment. We have basically returned to what we were before Mourinho. The last time we lost 3-0 against anybody at home (or away for that matter) was when Ranieri was in charge. As nice as the footy has become... Phil is about as tactically astute as a rotten cabbage. The man wouldnt know how to counter a real manager (like Fergie/Benitez/Wenger) if it were written down in gold ink on platinum paper for him. I highly doubt we will win the Champs League, because once it comes down to the big boys... Scolari is going to be in over his head.

Not a pessimist mate - I personally love the way we play when we... play properly... but I have the feeling that we are closed down too easily by managers who are tactically astute. Instead of making the team play so that they can take advantage of the oppositions weaknesses - Scolari wants (and I quote) "a player who can add something different" instead of taking tactical decision with the players he has. We were rendered impotent against MU and 'pool due to his lack of tactical prowess.

Just look at the Portugal vs Russia game. Russia has very good players, but not in the league of Ronaldo, Deco & Co. So I ask you - if a manager like Guus Hiddink can figure out how to break Portugals style in one tournament that lasts two months - do really think that it is impossible to imagine that the best footballing minds in Europe won't be able to figure him out during the entire length of the Champ League?

Look... I pray that I'm wrong. I really do. I am so desperate to win that bloody european trophy so that I can shove it in the face of my best mate who critised me and my other buddy for supporting Chelsea as kids - but I just don't see it happening with Scolari in charge. We will play beautiful games 90% of the time, but we will lose and lose badly the other 10%.

Hope I've made myself clear:)
