Official COD MW3 Thread.

I'm still undecided if I should get this game.
So in a scale of 1 to 10 how do you rate this game? (10 been the best)

And if you could go back in time, would you buy this game again or leave it?

24. Steam repeatedly updates or verifies MW3 game files.

When attempting to launch a game, Steam repeatedly updates.

Restart Steam
If the issue persists, exit Steam, rename your ClientRegistry.blob to ClientRegistryOld.blob, and restart Steam. The ClientRegistry.blob can be found in your Steam installation directory. C:|Program Files|Steam by default.
If the issue still persists, you may have issues with your local Steam files. You may refresh these files without deleting your game files. Please follow this process to refresh your Steam files:
Exit Steam
Navigate to your Steam installation directory. (C:|Program FilesSteam by default.)
Delete everything in that directory EXCEPT the following:
steam.exe
steamapps directory (All of Steam's game files are kept here.)
Restart Steam to test the issue

4/10 and yes i would of told my friend not to gift it to me, too much time spent on lobby and lagging with one red bar connection
 
You guys playing on PC seem to be having some nasty issues. I have the PC version but not played it yet as I prefer console (got the XBOX360 version).

On console, we are having the odd lag issues. Most of the time, game play is great.
I would rate it 9/10 until they have fixed the lag issues. Once fixed, I will give it a full 10. I love this freaking game :)
Getting a game however is great. Never an issue and you are in a game quickly. Lobbies work better than any of the previous CODs.

Seeing what you guts are saying, I won't touch my PC version until the reports get positive.

Jis Rip don't take this the wrong way but you moan a lot about a game that you didn't pay for.
I know there is some flaws, lag wise but for the most part the game is pretty awesome, perhaps it's just not your cup of tea.
I prefer MW3 to BOPS (that had worse issues than MW3 @ launch) & MW2 & would rate this 8/10 haven't touched the Single Player yet, but must say the Spec Ops is enjoyable. But like I said don't take offence perhaps play something else.

I started with a rating of about 3 or 4 out of ten. After getting used to it and setting gfx to native. And then sorting out my mouse issues (fraps caused unreal mouse problems :(). I give it about an 8 now. But I still reckon Black Ops is better.

Finished single player and was a very good game.

Going to give the multiplayer a try sometime and see if it is as good as when I used to play COD4 online
 
ya im probably pissed as thats all i have and it was a swap not free, its my entertainment for the next 6 months and im not impressed as stated, thats just my opinion not trying to make up anyones mind if they had dedicated ranked servers. a FOV slider i would rate it at 7, if they had made new gfx /engine it would of been a 9 but they had neither so 4 score remains, i ve loved every COD except mw2 and 3 purely becuase of the matchmaking fail, thats it wont mention another word about the game, done full stop zziiiiiip lock throw away.

After the patch yesterday the game feeld a bit smoother and matchmaking easier... Don't know if it is just my imagination. :)

Had some good games yesterday. I am really getting into this game - just a pity for all the moaners...
 
aaai.... worked all day yesterday, no play for me :( (Finished up at about 23H40) .... working on a private project with my swaari... Had a deadline to deliver this morning... Freaking just hope we debugged everything!

Have to say the single player was quite a satisfying experience.
So far the multi player isn't too bad.

Decided to try the dedicated servers tonight so I joined a IS hosted FFA server. I start with 30 seconds or so left in the map.
End up taking the final kill.

Next thing, I'm called a stupid ZOT.
Next map loads and I'm kicked ?

Wth ? No explanation, no nothing! I never even said a word to anybody so I couldn't have offended anyone.....

After that I played the gun game for the first time. Loads of fun :D

Those who bought the game, is that true? O.o

Cause if it is.. that would SUCK!!

small 10mb update, no idea what is in it, they dont release info on release which is weird

Not sure about that. Mine used Steam to authenticate, but installed from disc.

Gah, I'm having serious issues trying to log into steam to play MW3! Anyone else? I can log into Origin fine :/
 
it seems that steam dont fully install the game sometimes on certain machines(had a buddy that it happened to) then when finished steam will download the missing files thus can be in the gigs.

Suggestion.
When Installing the game it should not download more than 100mb for MP and SP separately else something went wrong and the best will be to wipe and start all over.


Izzzy.

Do you have problems getting in the game (the little black steam bar says "Connecting "USERNAME" or when you are in game and press the "PLAY" button.

If the first one try this.
Go to your steam folder in the main folder or the apps folder there should be one or two files *.BLOB files.
Delete them and restart steam.
Steam will download them again and all will be fine it was something to do with the last update.

If Second then sorry the servers are full at this stage you just need to try I had a few tries last night to get in.


The game is getting a bit more smoother but not there yet, but still enjoying it.
