Official Google Nexus 7 Thread

Got a Nexus 32gig yesterday brand new for R800 from a friend, bargain of the year!!
 
He won it last week at work and never even used it, he likes ios so asked me if i wanted it.

What are the options for someone like me to get the FHD Nexus 7? Any local stores/eStores stocking/selling?

I've just ordered mine off Amazon.com and looks like they'll ship it to South Africa.
 
Yeah, bought mine off eBay and had it shipped via the Global Shipping Program and was cheaper than any of the local guys. In total I paid R3782 (incl. priority shipping & customs).

Carbonite is prophecy.co.za's forum (i think mainly for hardware sales/purchases)

The user zakdoc89 is a very trusted member of the community who specializes in importing gadgets into SA
He currently has none in stock and IIRC is looking to import the 3G versions soon.

I looked at the Amazon and eBay options and just before I was going to click buy on Amazon, I saw Wootware had in stock. I called them and they said they only have 16GB (R3500ish) in stock 32GB (R4000ish) is out of stock. I ordered the 32GB, awaiting arrival in 2-3weeks

Could have saved a few rands maybe had I gone Amazon but its not worth the headache IMO.
 
Just got my 2013 N7 and for some reason the touch response is abit hit and miss at times. There is no specific time when it does this. It is rather random. What do? as I turned the device on I did do a system update (after all the userbased info stuff was entered)

It is a common issue and has been well reported. There was an update, but apparently it did not completely resolve all issues relating to touch input. There was an article on Android Central a while ago.

Would like to hear your experience with WootWare, on delivery. Thinking of ordering through them aswell.
 
Anyone have any guestimate on when the Nexus 7 (2013) will officially be offered in SA?
