Official Google Nexus 7 Thread

So couldn't stand it anymore....flashed 4.4 on my N7. Seems much more refined.
 
I see news doing the rounds that Google was waiting for the new build to be released before they stared sending OTA updates. So long story short, old build ended with O and new ends with S. Apparently the S build is already seeding...

New build was to correct bugs btw...

I received the S build OTA last night (original N7, wifi), after having sideloaded the O. For your interest, the S update installed fine with TWRP installed, no manual intervention required. But I'm currently in Florida, and it will no doubt take a few days to get to non-US locations.

I actually downloaded the S builds for the N4 and N7. If I understand correctly, I should be able to flash them without wiping seeing that the bootloader is unlocked.

Did that with my N4 (was happy to wipe the N7). On Mac, was as simple as deleting the -w from the flash-all.sh file, and everything was intact.
 
Also sideloaded the O version & got an instant OTA to S after that last night

Going off topic but I'm pretty lucky, on CellC I get 100% signal and around -75dBm. Speed wise I get between 3Mb-4Mb on a 7Mb modem.
 
Urgh, thought I'd flash the S build because I downloaded it...

Tried the NOT wipe option but it wiped :rolleyes:

Will just wait for the OTA on the N4
 
This morning when I checked the OTA was downloaded and I just had to reboot to install. It started updating but near the end it showed the dead android with "error" . It stayed on that screen for a while. I then rebooted and now it shows the dead android with "No Command".

Where do I go from here?
