Official Google Nexus 7 Thread

This morning when I checked the OTA was downloaded and I just had to reboot to install. It started updating but near the end it showed the dead android with "error" . It stayed on that screen for a while. I then rebooted and now it shows the dead android with "No Command".

Where do I go from here?

I have had a similar problem before and I used the Nexus 7 toolkit to flash the factory stock rom. Do this under menu option number 9 in the main menu.

So dropping the price on mine to 2k for the 2012 32gb 3G... Pm me if interested

I am wanting to get a Nexus 7 for a family member. I see Wootware has (USA import) ones. Any reason to not go for something like this?

I am going to be in New York next month, but warranty issues worry the family member so would prefer not to do that.

Rather get the 2012 model for the family member, if they are overly concerned about the warranty... roughiain has a good deal just above your post ;)

I saw that, but $269 for the 2013 32Gb model if I buy it in NYC, and ignore the warranty. That's R2800 :)

It is very tempting. If the family member does not want it, you'll find a buyer rather easily (should you elect to not keep it for yourself).

I ordered my first nexus product and cant wait . Ordered the Nexus 7 32GB Wifi with free travel cover from Orange. Awesome deal for those who dont want to go through the hassles of importing their own. Can you guys help me with your experiences/problems so far with the tablet.

I would ignore the warrantee. It's under 3k. The failure rate on these things are next to nothing

If you look at the XDA threads, enough noisemakers made a fuss about their display not being perfect ( either dust or dead pixels) but then again they cousome sounded anal about perfection.

And it is not under 3K : ( Amazon cart)

Wish I could pull the trigger on this one but I need to look at a device in the flesh first. I need a HD screen mostly for magazines and books and want to compare first between 7"-10.1".

Maybe of topic, sorry.

I use FlipBoard on my Nexus and I used to be able to flip the pages from bottom to top as opposed to right to left. Has this feature been removed?

I have a 2012 Nexus 7 Wi-Fi and I have still not received the 4.4 OTA

That's the same version as mine. I didn't do anything special. Woke up in the morning and it was waiting for me to install. My Wi-fi is live 24/7
