Had a look at the covers at IC but cannot convince myself to pay R450 for a simple cover.
Played with a 4.4 cm build for a minute, it irritated me when I could not seem to easily set the amount of home screens on it.Nova Launcher is much nicer than stock launcher on 4.4.2. It has
1) Full transparencies
2) Larger icons
3) Isn't a thinly veiled portal for Google Now
Besides the benefit of titanium backup...what benefits does rooting the tab give you? My phone is rooted and am running all sorts of things on there that needs it...but I cannot find a reason to root the tab?
Wazzat?Honestly, the only thing that I can think of right now, would be the Xposed framework.

If you want to monitor battery stats or wakelocks, you will have to root and install xposed. Google has blocked access to these in kitkat.Nice!
Been following the xda xposed write ups and it really is looking great. As soon as I find something the tab is lacking by default I will root and install xposed. Now to put that on my phone

I bought mine around the time the 2013 model was announced and they only had 2012 covers.Did they have covers for the 2013 version?
@jester, Tapatalk/mybb won't let me quote, but not sure what you fixed. Google has blocked battery stats, finished and klaar. The question I was answering is why should the oke root.
And Google's reasons for blocking it...
They had a reason for blocking it?
Not from what I've read. See my link a couple of pages back.
It was public until they decided it needs to be closed with kitkat. They don't want the unwashed masses to know which of their crappy apps/drivers are killing the battery.I just mentioned that it is inaccessible without root. Google's reason was that it was not a publicly available API.
