Got my 2013 wifi 5.0.1 OTA as well. Not bad looking.

Did you manage to find one? I have spare ones for 2012 Nexus 7. Brand new. R50, including postage.

Also got mine, was little worried when the home screen looked the same. Apparently they don't ship the new home screen with the older Nexus devices. I had to install Google Now Launcher, quick fix.
So far I really like the new design. From what I can see, not a lot has changed in the new update in terms of functionality. It's more in the looks department. But I like it. I've seen some lag opening and closing the app drawer, but nothing else. Pulling down the notification drawer is fine, but it feels like a lot of effort to get to the quick settings.
Speed aside, well I'm used to my OPO, which runs much quicker than the N7, this a nice polished update.

Do you have a micro USB port and headfone jack for the nexus 7 2012?
My nexus doesn't charge when plugged into micro USB port.

Nexus 7 2012 3G & WiFi:
Been patiently waiting for the lollipop update on my 2012 3G & WiFi version. I have even tried numerous times to clear data on Google Service Framework (it worked when I updated to KitKat and also on my Nexus 5 to get lollipop) but NOT this time around for my Nexus 7. I then had to do a Full Wipe (factory reset) but still NO Lollipop!!!

Erm... You really wasted your time. There is no lollipop for your tablet yet. It will only be released next year.

Not really. But try it and see for yourself. I don't use mine on a daily basis so it is fine for me.
