Joined the club as well.

Great little device. It is easier to handle, and is lighter than the iPad.

Where can one find accessories for this delightful fondleslab? :D

To orientate yourself w.r.t. what is available, take a look at the XDA section on accessories: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1676

I got a case for my Nexus 7 on BidorBuy, do a few searches over there. If you do not find what you are looking for, importing is probably your only option.

Enjoy the new tablet!

No, once you have the credit linked to your account, it works with any IP.

anyone bought a unit from esquire?

just got one now and the original sealing stickers were already opened
some black insulation tape was put over it

is this normal??
i just find it very strange for this to be done?
I called them to ask about it but they say its normal.....

Sounds odd to me, I wouldn't be happy accepting a opened device. I wouldn't say that is normal.

I got mine from Esquire about 10 days ago
Was properly sealed - once you slide off the outer sleeve, there were 2 see through round stickers on opposite sides of the black box

There are plenty of unboxing videos on Youtube to compare to your experience

Yeah that is piss poor IMO. I wouldn't have accepted it like that. Sorry but when you buying something brand new and especially from a reputable place you at least expect it to be sealed.

How do you know it wasn't a returned unit, or one of the staff played around with it for a few days and then stuck it back in the box. I am pedantic about things like this, but there are people who wouldn't be too bothered by it.

I agree with you 100%! You should always return a package, if you think it's packaging is dodgy, ie obviously opened, closed again with sticky tape, tampered seals, etc

Been waiting for the new Jelly Bean 4.1.2 update for a week now and nothing came through

So, after googling around, I found this

========================

Force the Nexus 7 4.1.2 Update
FIRST!!!, charge your Nexus 7 and leave the USB cord in

THEN:
1. Go to Settings -> Apps -> All

2. Find Google Services Framework.

3. Tap on Force Stop.

4. Select Clear Data.

5. Head back to the Nexus 7’s Settings, go to About, and check for a System Update. (Note the date will be in the 60's its okay)

Repeat steps 1-5 if initial attempt did not work

====================

My Nexus was not plugged in, but was fully charged

I did not do step 3, only did step 4 - clear data

Then tried Settings - About tablet - System updates - Check now

And immediately my update was available - 31 mb and dated 1970 (normal)
It updated in about 10 minutes

My Nexus 7 is not rooted, so i don't know how this will behave

Hope this might help some impatient users ;-)
