OFFICIAL HTC Desire Thread

Hey, what are you guys using to change splash screen & boot animation?
Looking for an easy-idiot-proof method...?

Its quite decent. Trust me. I thought that ohh cm7 sucks cause it doesn't have sense. But I think it looks better actually. I love it.
 
Same here. I installed cm7 and launcher pro. Just as good as sense.

After a week or so I am back to stock Rom for now. Cm7 is just not stable enough and after updating to 7.0.2 last night it started losing connection now and then.

Same here. I was on Oxygen 2.0.3 and it had some small bugs that annoyed me and it seemed as if an update was not forthcoming, so I flashed CM7 and haven't had a problem since.

tried it yesterday...very fast boot up; a few changes to screen transition animations:D

Flaws:
have to press power button & menu to unlock;
reboots after every app installation/uninstallation (even if fast boot turned off);
app thumbnails on homescreen have android thumbnails:mad:apps open but have android thumbnails (not all though)

Looking for way to change unlock to menu button/trackball (had it on previous Leedroid ROM)

Cm7 was ok. Had a few times where screen just went black when opening programs, which I could still live with, but after upgrading to 7.0.2 I started getting "emergency calls only" every now and then. Just flashed the original Rom back. I'll try Leedroid some time. Still love my phone.

Hmmm thanx for the warning then, will stay with 7.0.0 then
 
Quick question on CM7, I started getting that 2 second delay on incoming calls when I first flashed a gingerbread ROM, and I am still having it on CM7... It does not annoy me that much, but still makes me answer the phone and then just wait 2 seconds before I speak. Anyone had this and found a solution?

No solution available yet, its common in all gingerbread roms for the desire.
 
Oh wait, maybe try Leedroids gingerbread rom, i think that one was built on the official gingerbread version for the htc desire, so shouldnt have the issue.

However, i dont the battery performance will be as good as on an AOSP rom.
 
Yeah I wouldn't want to change ROM's for this... Will wait another 2-3 weeks and then I will change ROM if nothing happens.
 
I have installed MIUI rom two weeks ago, and its running Android 2.3.3 like a charm. Fast, looks great and I get 3 to 4 days of battery. Haven't found anything that doesn't work yet.
 
anybody get S-OFF to work on their Desires yet?
Flash Leedroid 3.03 but strugglign to get S-OFF on my Desire
followed this thread to the T...any ideas????

Actually just redid mine last night. The 24-or-so MB TinyLinux download works perfectly. Used Universal USB Installer to pop it onto a flash drive, booted off that & followed the prompts. That being said, the current version of this utility didn't play nice with my laptop; luckily I had an older version lying around...

I also swapped to the CM7 Hboot tables last night, and I'm now running baadnewz's latest Gingerbread ROM (from XDA) with a bunch of Sense 3.0 goodies... quite snazzy.

tried that method as well...same error: "hub 2-0:1.0: unable to enumerate USB device on port #"
did a bit of research and found that it is a problem with ROMs with A2SD loaded...will try stock or Cyanogen soon

apparently sometimes you need to be on a stock rom to do s-off
so u cud try to flash teppics prerooted stock rom and then try s-off?
