Other alternative for me is to wait for the XDA Android port or Windows mobile 7 and see what that is like ... VERY similar phones just with the 4.3" screen on the HD2 and its slightly more sexy IMO

Hmmm... I haven't seen much of WinMo 7 but didn't like it... Looks like ms copying apple and adding about a ton of paranoia...

Will stick to open source android...

Yep yep... Android is very good! ... I've had a few iPhones, Android phones and Win Mo phones ... I like the Android best ... its like the best of both worlds
Android WILL be coming to the HD2 soon via XDA Develpers ... so not all that bad ... just a wait... was hoping to get an Android based Desire NOW tho!

Oh and first released videos of WinMo7 was laggy etc ... but the new keynote videos ... smooth as butter ... it looks promising ... but agree that the UI of android might have the upper hand ... can really judge WinMo7 until its out!

You just do! Download then install using HTC Sync, or transfer to the phone, and use a file manager app to install manually.

Okay, just make sure that whoever is home will take it out of the box and put it on charge so long, else you will have to wait 8 hours before using the phone....if the 8 hours start now, then you don't have to wait as long. Also, be prepared for the first week of c@c battery life...it will get better though;-)

Hmmm... I'd rather not waste 5 hours....

Li-Ion & Li-Po batteries do NOT need to placed on charge for an initial lump charge... The chraging circuit stops charging the battery as soon as it is fully charged so any time left on charge after that is wasted...

THe Cellphone stores just tell you that so that they're not around when you come back to bitch about something not working...

Dude... go to www.appbrain.com you can push the apps straight from the site to your phone...
