Does this also remove the ***Tampered*** in the bootloader?
Interestingly enough, there is a Google play update for SuperSU, but updating it failed, and I got a message saying I need to reroot to get the update because of my upgrade to 4.3. Not an issue, just curious.
By the way, the battery and performance are fantastic now! The upgrade is well worth it. I'm also glad I'm not getting any Vodacom software and splash screens with it.
Completed all steps until the rumrunner.
I have usb debugging on, fastboot off and rooted.
It get stuck at fastboot and then exits out saying there was a error and I should download the latest rumrunner.
Advice?
Mine failed the first time because I hadn't seen a super user request in the phone. Perhaps it's that?
I did accept it. What version did you have? I have OS version in the bootloader 2.24.401.8 but it doesn't work
Edit: Got it working after a million tries but flashing the update is not working. Might be because I have TWRP is installed and I need stock recovery? Can someone provide me with the stock recovery.img?
Edit: Got the recover.img from the update as per b_crazy post. Will flash it at lunch. Here's hoping I can get it working. Thank you everyone for the help

How is the connection speeds after the update coz I see there is a new radio in the firmware zip file?

Glad you got it working. It seems the update has optimized the phone's performance entirely. All connections seem to be using less battery as well. I'm a big user of youtube (using 3G), and I spent about an hour on it after my last full charge, including normal browsing and a few hours on music and FM Radio. I have 21% battery left after 17 hours (with power saver off).
You'll be impressed.
Make sure you have at least 90% battery before you install the update (even though my update used about 5% of the battery).
Yes I'm on Vodacom.
Edit: I'm more than happy now to wait for the official 4.4 with Sense (sometime in Jan)

Point of note:
I've seen in certain sections that where people are advised to disable animations in the developer options menu. Please note that doing so will affect 3 dot menu buttons in some apps (like the mail app), and doesn't really save your battery.

Damn man. I was listening music and browsing and doing a lot of stuff on mine on 4.2.2 and it lasted from about 5 or 6ish in the morning till about 5 in the afternoon but its heavy use mostly listening to music with beats.

Took it out my pocket and gave it a good shake, as there is nothing to open. Did not even power it down. All worked, but the camera was blurry on Saturday. By Sunday the camera was back to its usual self. So I would say the One is not just water resistant, but waterproof.

With the performance I'm getting now from this update, I'm starting to wonder what exactly vodacom is doing to it before making it available in SA. They could very well degrade it by the time they are done tinkering with it.
Well I think it runs some testing with regards to connectivity. Not sure the extent of it .
I must say I like HTC Sense but I strongly thinking of moving to Google Play Edition after testing Android 4.3 with Sense 5.5 for about a month but we will see.

Does you speakers still work? Coz I would imagine the water went into those grills on the front

I'm now on 4.3 (Thank you b_crazy ), anyone know how to get to 4.4? I changed my CID to superCID and I tried to flash iJasper's 4.4 update in stock recovery but it failed, so I rooted, reflashed stock recovery, tried to flash the update and it failed again. The first error I don't remember but after rooting it said it couldn't mount the cache partition which is odd. Do I perhaps need to change my Model ID?

Coz volume up just seems to reboot the whole time.

You need to hold it for only a second. Too long and it reboots.
Yeah just got it working now. Asked a guy in the office to do it and he didn't press and hold and voila blue recovery menu
Feel like a noob but now it done. Thanks
