Official ICC 2015 CWC thread

I don't get it? That proves you wrong.
If you followed that link you'd have seen that AB's only 200+ SR ODI inings have come this year, and against the WI only (edit ok and IRE too :D)

GMax&Faulkner have been doing that for a long time now.

Smith out....here's a chance for the Afghans. Time for some poppy pressure to reinforce Oz's batting frailty.

Smith goes!

Shapoor Zadran to Smith, OUT, Smith won't have a hundred. Shapoor has bowled well, has gone for a lot still, but this is good reward. Again the cross seam means it doesn't quite come on, and he is early into the drive. Straight to mid-off. Taken
SPD Smith c Najibullah Zadran b Shapoor Zadran 95 (98b 8x4 1x6) SR: 96.93

Afghans were loving his strike rate. And missing out the hundred will peeve him.

Just as I predicted Faulkner in.

The most destructive pair in World cricekt is on show.

Maybe we should also have AB&Afridi battle 2 overs against these guys.

Dan: "If Afghanistan want most of the major cricketing nations to celebrate their achievements at this World Cup they could do worse than to entice Faulkner to re-injure himself. The man scares me, I don't want us to have to play him later in the tournament."
No team wants to face him

A useless stat without considering the volume of runs. More than half of AB's innings have come at a strike rate of 100+, along with the volume of runs. That is what makes the difference in the end. 4(2) is a strike rate of 200, but it's completely useless in the scheme of an innings.

BTW your man Maxwell only has 3 innings at 200+ himself, against India, Afghanistan and Zimbabwe. And not a single one of them was a hundred.

Glenn Maxwell - 3 innings with a strike rate over 200 - not a single 100 between the 3.

http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/en...te;template=results;type=batting;view=innings

James Faulkner - 2 innings with a strike rate of over 200, and not a single 100.

Besides, AB often comes in early and needs to keep the innings together sometimes. Faulkner and Maxwell rarely needs to do that.

You can twist statistics either way you want. 200 isn't the required strike rate for greatness - there's no such thing, really. If you look at that list of AB's batting with a strike rate of over 120, which is pretty great for a no. 4 batsman, you'll find 10 centuries and 9 fifties.

One of the best if you ask me.

Now he's my big show?
That's what you called him earlier. What I don't understand is for someone who harbors such a dislike for white people, why you have such a hard-on for the Aussies. Don't see you crying for them to give the Aborigines a chance...

Don't come here with your logic while ZFC is agendarising.

Can't believe you're defending AB against Maxwell&Faulkner now. Chill. They are both nowhere near his league. Give AB a rest.

The bottomline is they'll have plenty of 50+ scores with a SR of over 200. That's the T20 world for you folks. Has nothing to do with their superiority to AB but they'll end up with more and both are easily capble of beating his 50/100/150 SR records many times over before they retire. Again has nothing to do with them being better than AB/BMac/Raina/Kohli/Amla etc. ;)

If you ask me nicely I'll PM you links of my posts & blogs about that. ;)
