Du Plessis wants to meet NZ in knockouts again

"In my perfect world I would like to play New Zealand in the semi-final and have that same situation arise again. But this time it will be the other way around. We'll be the team that's on top, and we can do the same to them," du Plessis said at South Africa's World Cup squad announcement on January 7, where he also promised that flamboyance is now much less of a feature in his game.

"Wish" fulfilled in Faf's perfect world! :D

the big decision ahead of this game: Abbott or Vernon?

based on Abbott's performances this WC and Vernon's injury woes combined with lack of game time in pressure cooker situations, I'd go with Abbott.

Like Rillie, he's earned his spot with consistently good performances.

Also, I've just read that Milne is out the tournament and with Mitchell McClenaghan poor performance against BL, Matt Henry has been brought in and is competing with Kyle Mills for the last seamer berth..

This could be an opportunity for SA to exploit the third seamer weakness that NZ are now faced with.

excluding, AB, McCullum, Kohli and Warner - which batsman do you think will fire in the semi finals ( excluding all rounders)...

choosing my fantasy team and I'm 300 points behind the leader so a good call here could well get me back in the lead...

Glen Maxwell

Would be a huge risk to play Vern! Imagine he breaks down again after bowling 4 overs?

Such a pity he hasn't been firing on all cylinders but I'm not sure his inclusion would be worth the risk.

You got Amla yet?

I could but I don't want to. If I do, We'll all have he same team. I need to pick slightly differently to catch up with them.

So I'm looking for an outside bet who could come good, a risk yes, but one I got to take to catch up.

I'd go for de Kock then. As good a risk as any. He might unsettle your squad balance though, as a keeper.

The Indian Cpt is the only one i'd say has a great % chance of taking it all.. the others including SA have potential to. Still i reckon SA in a great position.

Tomorrow's game will be interesting. The last Nz game showed that their bowling line up is vulnerable if no early inroads are made and while both teams are VERY similar i think SA has the better of them due to the losses surprisingly. The Nz team hasn't struggled too much this entire WC.

India need to get past that mental hurdle. They spent the summer getting bashed by the Aussies and even Aussie state sides (didn't win a game on tour till the English arrived for the triangular series). So it could be quite a one-sided game if Aussies bowl first and get a couple of early wickets. I reckon India could fold like SL did in the quarterfinal.

I'm expecting Aus to steam roll the indian batting line up in all honesty. Remember the ODI series India played recently? they couldn't get near AUS. I expect that to remain true

Valid point, still fancy India over Aus though.

NZ probably shade it slightly in the bowling but we shade it when it comes to batting. Interesting fact the whole NZ team has 34 odi 100's meanwhile AB&Hash has 40 odi 100's together.

Its time for the big game players to step it up. I expect a big performance from the # and dale.

I think AB is going to play a magical knock for us tomorrow.
