Official ICC World T20 thread

Bravo's comments after yesterday game:

Man of the Match: Bravo: "It's a great feeling to do it at Lord's. It started on the field. We restricted them. I got an opportunity to bat up the order. Now we play against one of the better teams in the tournament - South Africa."

So he didn't consider India a good team?

Edit: So far the only 2 unbeaten teams are SA and SL.

Although something struck me as i woke up this morning and i thought OMG, if we lose to west indies today we will have to beat the indians to get through. Well not really struck me as such but frightened me because today is one of those really important games that we often fail at.

Come on killa, positive thoughts...positive thoughts...positive thoughts.:)

I think we'll thrash the Windies, having to produce that type of performance 2 days in a row I think will be a bit much for them. Another thing we seem to have not considered is that "aura" thing the Aussies had going for years, when the media, commentators, players etc are just in awe that it actually affects your opponents. Even their own guys were talking about "if we beat England, we should go through" rather than looking at beating SA. On the other hand it can motivate your opponents and neutrals tend to support the underdog. Hmmmmm

But this is T20, anything can happen.

Yea well the thing i love being positive but dude i have watched SA play cricket for so long that i know for some reason they cannot cope with world cup matches, now sure we have the best squad in t20 but yea i am going to watch and am going to be very positive but i dunno hey the past is playing on my mind a lot :(.

So much potential we have always had so many world cups we have failed to live up to. I also think we should crush them today but they have shown they can do it against good opposition now :).

Sounds like we have the New Zealand Rugby WC complex but with us its cricket. :D

...but at least with them they've tasted victory once. :(

I think if the pitch plays the same then windies are gonna struggle, it really does suit SA. While this game might be tight, I am more interested in the India vs SA game, as if SA win windies, they have a chance to knock out the tournaments fav + with the close win vs england I think SA needs to either win big vs windies or win both games.

They beat India mostly because of short pitched bowling.
That pretty much always works against Sri Lanka and India.
Pakistan can still play the short stuff.

Unfortunately for WI, we do that better than they can.
We also play it better than they do.

Biff lost the toss but we're batting first. Hope they manage a big score, we've only had a large score once and it was against a useless team.

Problem is as favurites we have nothing to gain.If we win,every1 expected it,if we lose every1 gna be pointing fingers.I would hate being the favorites.

Welcome to what the Aussies have been going through for years.

Chris Gayle is my new hero. To wear those lucky packet glasses and still bowl to Gibbs and Kallis? Thats a powerful man. :D

FFS! Roelof did not even look at the ball when he hit it!!!

Hoping we can still make 180 at least. :(

Yeah, I agree with what one of the commentators was saying. We've been cursed by our own success. The lower order batsmen haven't had a chance to get some proper time out in the middle.

I think we should be fine though. With our fielding and accurate bowling we have an edge. As long as we can restrict Bravo and Gayle.
