Official ICC World T20 thread

Interesting i find that they needed 56 off 42 balls and afridi thinks they should start hitting boundaries, when we needed 78 off 42 we never thought that :D

Ya man killa...I was ready to kill during that cluster**** we called an innings.

Go SL!

Big match player
Big hitter
Match winner

BOOM BOOM.

This was an amazing innings, well paced and he never let the run rate get out of hand, he made sure they did not need 13 an over i mean with 8 wickets in hand you can afford to take your chances :).

That was a good game :)

Glad pakistan won just makes SA look stronger, we played well against them.

Did anyone notice how both batsmen charged the bowling so often and moved around a lot in their crease? Thats how you turn block holes deliveries into full tosses, that is how you make the bowler not hit his line every delivery. You charge him, make space for yourself and you make him wonder what you will do with the next one which means he is not concentrating solely on hitting his line and you stop him from bowling block hole deliveries. If you are static there is no doubt in the bowlers mind, he can bowl great delivery after great delivery.

That was just amazing batting if you ask me.

Our of record 7 wins in a row is safe.
Sri Lanka were on 6.

Don't think Afridi has ever scored two 50's in a row before.

Yup Afridi is a match winner with the bat/ball for sure. Also i thought he paced his innings really well, he started off at a run a ball and then just ensured victory by smashing the ball at the right time. You could see he did not want 12/13 an over, he wanted it done and dusted long before.

Congragulation to Pakistan.they proved they not chokers.
Weldone, they beat two unbeaten teems, who says they got lucky against rsa.

I can never understand this. There you have the specialist batsmen lnocking the ball around at below the required rate (individually or as a team), get out anyway, and then they expect the tailenders to get 14 or more runs and over.

Ya dilshan had to fail sometime i guess.

My point made the other day, that the improvised shots can be stifled by changing the bowling at that particular person. A definite plan with a positive outcome in that first over.
Pakistand did their homework against SA and again here.

With a more correct batsman --such as Kallis;)---you won't get a strike rate of 190 , with 130 proven good enough in almost all games, but you cannot restrict his shots either, the way Dilshan was.

cheers:)

Yea but you cannot bowl to someone moving around and charging you the same way you would bowl to someone standing still. You can hit your length and bowl block hole deliveries every ball when someone is not moving or charging. The bowler would not be as confident of getting his line and length 100% correct.

I've worked out why the Windies lost.

They were behind the run rate all the time while Gayle was batting...
....according to the Killadoob theory on Kallis this means that Gayle as the common factor was entirely to blame.

Don't blame the guys who got ducks or 3 from 10, 7 from 15 etc...it's Gayle, 63 n.o. from 50 playing for his stats again.

Loooool :D

lol :D

(I had been thinking about posting something similar, just to wind killa up:p)

So glad there are some that know a little bit about cricket ;)

Hahaha... Indeed... Absolutely no understanding or appreciation of the dynamics of the game... But I sometimes believes he argues for the sake or arguing... He likes to play devils advocate..

Lol, yeah some of us do the same :p

But definitely not devill's advocate.

Shurrup! Go shout at some new guy for usin'g da' "'" to many a time :p:D

Ps Afridi beat SA and Sri lanka, and I agree with alf dont think i have seen him score 2 50s in two consecutive games.

Yep, thats the risk they took, especially against Sangakara.
Its one thing chasing the bowlers, but its very risky when you have a wicky like Sangakara behind you...
But they pulled it off.

Yay Pakis!!!:D
