Official LG G2

They are busy with the repair, so I might get it this week still,
Thinking of getting the slim armor cover... Anyone still happy with theirs?
I'm open to suggestions

Yup. Dropped the phone yesterday with the slim armor case. Not a scratch.

That's sad to hear man, I gave up on the window case because it didn't fit mine properly. I got a bodyglove case. It keeps the phone slim, feels good in hand, but maybe not strong enough to your new requirements.

Where did you get this case....?

Guys i hope im not being a pest, but I have 2 questions that I would appreciate the answers to greatly.

1stly, from the first day I got the phone I have experienced random buttons presses on the home button where I am not making contact with it. This results in the closure of whatever app I am using, and it doesnt stop there. The home button continues to light up in a similar manner, causing the phone to freeze temporarily (switching the screen off and on fixes that). I sent it in to be checked out, and was told a software upgrade was does, it came back and the next day exhibited the same problem. My question to you guys is has anybody experienced this, can you guys maybe help me solve this problem? The phone works fine except for that and I dont want to send it in again because I doubt they can fix it.

My second question, has anybody here rooted and unrooted their phone? Also what improvements does rooting make?

Thanks

Not sure about the 1st point. Sounds like a reset might sort the issue, but no promises. It's definitely software IMO, though it may be screen calibration gone wrong. Just throwing it out there.

My phone is rooted. Biggest benefit is Xposed Framework.

Memphis im trying to upload some pictures but its coming up with an error

thanks Raithlin, what can I possibly to to fix the screen calibration if it is indeed that?

I would get it swapped out. Or fixed if too late for swap. Hardware issue.

That's what I'm afraid of. I hope it's software and will be fixed in kitkat.

About rooting, I searched for xposed and it came up as an app. Is that it or is it something else, also what does it do to the phone?

From the dialler dial 3845#*802#

this will bring you to the LG Hidden Menu

Goto Settings, Update Touch Firmware.

Then start again and go to Device Test, then Touch Test.

You can now run specific tests to determine if their is indeed something wrong with your touch screen.

Oh... dont break your phone by messing around too much in the other options :)

Dekana that is one awesome tip, I tried it now and it seems ok. It would be nice if it did its craziness so I could see if the tests pick it up. I have done some reading as well, it seems as though its a somewhat common problem, that could be because of the ram usage, and related to software. Im holding thumbs that the kitkat update is sorted out and is released soon

I've installed the EU version of kitkat on my phone and I'm having zero issues. I think the south African carriers are playing delay tactics to get their bloatware onto the SA roms

Bloat shmoat...root and custom rom baby. Bloat be gone :D

As for protective casing...cannot go with Ballistic :D Love the solid feel. Though it will be too bulky for some. Not an issue for me though.

My G2 felt out of my pocket, I never put it in my pocket, the screen shattered and its unusable, Got a quote from Vodacom... R2783:cry:
It only has the cover with the small window, and it fell on the only corner that is not covered.

Its fixed and I can go collect :D

Can you give me a link on how to do this? I tried yesterday and failed miserably. The G2 isn't as easy as the S2 to install firmware:wtf:

I tried following the guide on xda and because of some update to the lg software tool you have trick it now or something. I tried the sfr France 16gb. Which did you use dekana?

I used the following guide:

I wish I still had a custom recovery but at the same time it doesnt bother me that much as I'm sure there will be a way to do it afterwards at some point.
