If you ask me, Fergie has underestimated the impact Ronaldo's departure would have. I mean Ronaldo was always double or triple teamed which left wide open spaces for the rest of the squad.

Now that they actually have to fight through a defence, it isn't so easy. It's clear that Park and Carrick are average beyond compare.

Like I said, our strikers shouldn't have to be coming back to retrieve the ball. it's the midfielders job to get the ball to them which they aren't doing.

No doubt we have a big squad but I think that Fergie tends to overkill the rotation system (just a thought). I mean why not have a stable MidField (so that they can gel into a dynamic pairing (whomever it may be). This is such an NB position on the pitch. Playing Giggs in the middle and Ando ON THE WING!!!. Ando was brilliant for Porto as an attacking MF, yet we constantly play him in other positions. My MF pairing would be Fletch and Ando. They are young, talented and hardworking, so let them develop an understanding and familiarize themselves with their roles (Fletcher can track back and work hard, Ando can push our attack forward (and does his fair share of tackling), both can pass really well...whats the problem with giving them a fair chance:confused:

Rotate your strikers no prob (as long as Rooney starts..)

Wingers run alot so at times rotate them as well (at times being the key word). Here again I think a stable wing pair like in the days of Giggs and Becks will be beneficial (better understanding with the full backs for one! Giggs/Erwin and Becks/Neville were outstanding). My wing pair would be Nani/Valencia (excited about Orbetan but will have to wait!). Not sure whats going on with Park but he seems to be regressing or just struggling to get up to speed after the off season:confused::confused:

Yes its early days so I'm not crying "abandon ship"...lol
Just would like to see more improvement on a good thing (cause lets not forget last year and the silverware that came with it..;))
Agreement. It is a setback for sure but way to early to be writing us off :)

Rotation is one thing, but when we don't even have any other commitments, I'd let the 1st team start every game. Rotate when you need to.

Just thought I'd post this here RE Michael Owen. It's from a United fan and had me lmao :D

But... Michael Owen. I was dead against signing him, mainly on account of my passionate hatred for the little tw*t, but why is everybody insistent that he will suddenly recapture his form now he has joined United? He was dreadful last night (so were several others, like Park and Carrick, but they have put in a decent performance in the last 3 years) and put in exactly the same sort of sub-par performance he put in for Newcastle. "Michael Owen scores goals" they say? When? Five bloody years ago doesn't count. He hasn't been prolific for a long time now, and he did play most of the games in the geordies ill-fated run in last season. After 70 dreaful minutes, he was hauled off for Berba, who contributed more in 20mins that TCMO (That C*nt Michael Owen) did, yet the commentator on the feed I was watching kept saying "Oh, if Michael Owen was still on the field....", "I'd have left him on...", "He'd be sniffing round the six yard box...". What does this guy have to do for the footballing media to go "Hang on, '98 was 11 years ago, this guy is absolute toilet now"? I am at a loss to explain it, as I honestly haven't seen him do anything in the last 3 or 4 years that suggests he is still a top level footballer.

Fabio Capello was there last night. Based on that, I expect Robbie Blake is now above him in the pecking order. Rightly so, too.

I also don't know why the commentator wanted him left on the field. He was disappointing again. Must do better.

So true. I now officially hate Park and Carrick.

Carrick has been ok at times. He is overrated. But Park and Anderson have not ever been good for more than one match here and there. More there than here.Fergie could at least play him in the middle of the park, where he belongs.

Thing with Park is, he has one good match and Fergie then puts him in the big games where he fails horribly. Anderson is just ...

With Carrick, he just has nothing. No style, flare, creativity, can't run, can't beat players. He's supposed to be feeding the ball to our strikers but he's so useless Rooney has to drop back to fetch the ball.

Agreed.

If everyone is fit, I'd start with Nani, Fletcher, Carrick and Valencia in the middle. BBT and Rooney up front. No messing around.

I promised my ManU buddies that I would not make any remarks about their loss; I will maintain my silence here as well!

Based on last night's performance I think Fergie needs to sign a BIG player before the window closes. You got 80 million from Madrid and signed Valencia and Owen.

Nooit. We still have the best squad in the Prem. We just need to play our best XI whenever they are available. :)

Out of the Top four I think you have the weakest midfield.
Nani - hopeless
Anderson - overated(by Fergie who keeps on playing him)
Park- Runs around alot with little end product
Fletcher- average footballer who should be at a team like Fulham or Everton
Carrick - Vastly overated
Giggs- what is he 37 now?
Scholes- Can't run, cant beat players and can't tackle. At least his shots still packs a punch.

Fergie needs to spend some of that Ronaldo money fast

Hmm, I am not sure.

Who are the other midfields?

Chelski

Fat Frank
Deco
Ballack
Malouda

Pool

Gerrard
Mascherano
Lucas
Benayoun
(Kuyt) basically a striker

Arse

Arshavin
Fabregas
Denilson
Eboue?

It is hard to compare apples with apples as not everyone has 4 regular midfielders. Arse seem to play some sort of 4-3-3 and chelski have that 4-3-2-1 or whatever it is meant to be. Pool play what? 4-5-1? Or 4-4-1-1 with Kuyt and Torres up front...

+1

On paper the weakest of the top 4. None of those players would get into my best of Prem squad.

Fletcher is the closest thing to Keane United has. Scholes is probably the best passing player in the English game, if not Europe. Giggs is immortal. Nani and Anderson show promise. Remember how long it took Ronaldo to blossom? Carrick and Park are overrated agreed!

LOL. Fair enough. With our talisman gone, that much is true. Pool still have Gerrard/Kuyt/Torres, Chelski have Lampard/Drogba/Anelka and Arse have Arshavin/Fabregas/RVP and United have, well Valencia/Rooney/BBT I guess.

Nani - hopeless but starting to show promise
Anderson - overated(by Fergie who keeps on playing him) Agreed
Park- Runs around alot with little end product Agreed
Fletcher- average footballer who should be at a team like Fulham or Everton Possibly
Carrick - Vastly overated DEFINITELY agree
Giggs- what is he 37 now? 35? But SAF is still relying on him :/
Scholes- Can't run, cant beat players and can't tackle. At least his shots still packs a punch. Also 35. Not nearly the player he was in his prime but can you blame him? Can't stay young forever

Fergie needs to spend some of that Ronaldo money fast

Fergie definitely needs to use that Kitty. A decent winger and a decent central midfielder is all we need imo. Carrick would probably do a bit better if he could feed off someone but he CANNOT be the main guy in the midfield.

Like I said, SAF underestimated the impact of Ronaldo's departure.

Haha, I really don't expect him to do anything in the transfer market at all. This is what we have and we have to make the best of it. Which we can, and will :)

More frustrating is the fact that I am considering ONLY having Evra in my fantasy team
