Glazers have to invest if they want United to remain competitive, which they need. I think we'll see a big overhaul in the summer, as long as we're willing to pay the right price for players and not cheap out on their wages. That's how City bought players.

Their piggy bank wont run short of cash for a long time, and when it starts to they can sell the stadium, the training facilities, the players.

Perhaps they had hoped someone would buy them out at their inflated price, but that was never going to happen.

The fans globally aren't going to support the team the way they have. That means that sponsors will start dropping out. Not to mention that they've already seen a fall in the stock price.

The Glazers will invest. Simply, they have to.

I would like you to be right but I seriously doubt it.

The partial floatation's share price isn't a major problem for them at all. I also think you are overstating the sponsorship and support drop off.

It wasn't. Ever. It was yellow. At worst.

No one seems to remember the Welbeck penalty that we were denied either.

Rafael lunge could have gone wither way. Would also have been a soft red but apparently you can't "dive in" two-footed "two footed" "these days ". As if it makes any difference at all.

Anyway. We were a bit unlucky and we definitely weren't played off the park.

Letting eto'o score three goals is just embarrassing though.

My point is that they would reinvest before seeing that happen. No point shutting the barn door after the horse has bolted, especially since there's currently no shortage of other teams to support on the global stage.

Manchester United's continuing success is not necessary for the Glazers to make a lot of money personally. Keep that in mind.

They should have sold a few years back to that Qatari group. Got offered 2billion pounds but they wanted 2.5.

City was in the Championship league. With the way things are going MU won't be unless Liverpool, Everton and Tottenham slip up. MU will have to pay a premium for players if they aren't in the Champions League

City were not in the Champions League when the Abu Dabhi United Group took over. They first qualified for the CL at the end of the 2011 campaign, and they were bought in August 2008.

If that's what it takes to get rid of them. Iirc H&G defaulted to RBS which allowed the sale to Henry. Doubt it will get that far though.

Something like that yeah. We were pretty damn close to going into administration.
 
Positive things taken from today's match, United playing well - creating space, creating chances - just need Rooney and RVP back to put that finishing touch.

Defence extremely wonky - but least that will improve going forward.

Chelsea were lucky with those goals - defensive lapse. Least we can only improve from here on!

Red card for Vidic I think they was way too harsh! Luiz should have seen red after he elbowed Valencia off the pitch, Rafael's Yellow should have been a red but Vidic was definitely a yellow
 
Refs tend to get irritated by some players ,and the build up of tackles and dirty play during a match can further influence a decision. In isolation the Vidic decision was harsh and perhaps warranted a yellow, however it was still a dangerous tackle and could have caused serious injury.

Had the ref seen Rafael's tackle properly ,it was going to be a straight red...doubt he or his assistant caught a good view of the incident .
