He was obviously after that type of player. Mata = Cesc light imo.

Rooney wants to play as a striker anyway. Iirc he said as much.

Don't agree. Cesc is a completely different player to Mata, but I agree that he is one of better quality (as excellent as Mata is).

Only sources that I can find, are the blog sites, and lower down the order, the Daily Mail... so I'll take it with a pinch of salt.

It would be weird though- why would he miss training if United representatives were in London to conduct the deal? To be a reporter...
